Happy.

That's not a word I use to describe myself often, but for once, it fits.

Musical laughter fills the air, the bright smiles on their faces practically lighting up the meadow we're walking through. George is sitting on top of Dream's shoulders, part of a dare from Sapnap. George is currently trying not to fall off, his voice an octave higher than it usually is as he yells at Dream not to drop him. His shouts are perfectly reasonable, given Dream is laughing so hard he's almost falling over. His iconic wheezes echo through the meadow, standing out amongst the soft rustling of leaves as the wind blows through the branches of some nearby trees. For once I can actually see the face that goes with the laugh, because Dream has decided not to wear his mask for this little outing. His face is bright red, his green eyes closed as he shakes with laughter.

Sapnap is also laughing, happy Dream didn't chicken out from his dare. A cheerful grin threatens to pop up on my face, and for once, I let it. Sapnap notices the smile and pumps his fist into the air, celebrating actually getting me to show a feeling other than indifference. I let out a small laugh, my voice naturally slipping into the din of the group.

This is... nice.

Everything is close to perfect.

Dream and George fall over, the inevitable outcome making me and Sapnap laugh even harder. Dream bounces back upright, holding a hand out to George. George reaches out to take it-

Red.

Red everywhere.

Red strings around their necks and wrists.

Red staining Sapnap's white bandana.

Red coating Dream's uncovered face,  dripping, a gory mask so unlike his normal one.

Red dripping from George's mouth.

Red on my hands and running down my face-

George is pulled to his feet by Dream, the two's laughter ringing through the meadow. They don't notice how suddenly the smile falls from my face. Sapnap does, though, and gives a questioning look. I plaster a fake smile on my face, trying to convince him that I'm fine. Which I am. Nothing's wrong. Why am I so tense? I was relaxed a second ago. I can relax here. Everything is fine. I'm fine.
