Jake decided to search for Emily. He didn't go to his afternoon classes anymore. He headed to the place where only he, Emily and Nikki knew. He was worried for her. But he couldn't really get angry at his friends because they had been together for almost ten years and they were not so bad. They were just boys who will always be boys.

"Jacob Martin?" Mrs. Dodds called for her new student. She was a fifty-year-old math teacher and she looked mean enough to ride a Harley right into your locker. The eight-year-old little Jake stood up and went beside Mrs. Dodds. "Class, this is Jacob Martin, your new classmate. He's a transferee."

"Hello." was all Jake said. He didn't like people staring at him. He thought that it was such a pain to still transfer school but his grandparents wanted him there. He scanned the class and saw new faces, some were welcoming, some didn't even care about him. There was one who caught his attention though the kid didn't do anything. He looked arrogant and superior and the kid just ignored him. But it didn't bother him.

"Mr. Martin, you can go to your seat now." Mrs. Dodds seemed to glare at him. She had these hidden feelings about rich kids. She just didn't like them tremendously. She thought that rich kids were naturally evil and that she didn't even want to be with them. But she endured teaching them because she needed money. Jake did what she said. He sat down and he knew at once that the teacher hated them. He thought she hated him but she was cold towards the others too so he knew she had issues with people like him. "Prepare for a test tomorrow, we will see if you really understand the lessons we had."

As the day ended, he went straight to his grandparents' home. He didn't really get the idea as to why he was staying in there. His grandparents said they wanted to take care of him because his parents were always busy especially at this moment when the son and the daughter-in-law of the Chairman Van Tassel died. His father, Darren Martin, owned the second largest share of the Van Tassel empire but also a friend to the Van Tassels. He was taking care of the corporation at the moment the Chairman Van Tassel was mourning. But even when things like that didn't happen, his parents were always busy so there was nothing really new about it.

It was evening and the Martins were having dinner. The three of them were not talking. They didn't like the awkward silence so Dolly Martin decided to speak. "So how was your first day Jake?"

"Fine."

"Jake, don't think that because your parents brought you here that they don't like you anymore." She said all of a sudden. Jake looked at her. "Your parents asked us if you could stay here for the meantime because it's really chaotic in your country's business world right now. And your father is in that world so he wanted to protect you by bringing you here." Jake didn't say anything. "I really do hope that our grandson would be spending his time here with us happily. I hope you could also treat this house as your own home, Jake. Make some friends and have a great time in here okay?" she continued. Jake nodded.

After their dinner, he went to his room. He was thinking about what his grandmother told him. Staying in there wasn't so bad. It was just actually the same in his country. Except that he left a friend in his home, Emily. He hated her because he thought she was a brat but things changed. When Emily's parents died, he saw Emily's pure feelings and he didn't want to leave her there alone without any friends but he could't do anything. He was just an eight-year-old boy. He promised to come back for Emily though.

When he arrived at the little paradise, he saw no one in there. Where could she possibly go? That was the only place where she could/wanted to stay. He called Nikki then. "Nik, did you find her?"

"Yeah, she's here. She said she's fine, you know her. I'll be by her side so don't worry so much." Nikki assured in the other line. Jake was relieved. "I got to go. Our teacher is here." The line ended.
