I woke up in a room that was not familiar to me. It wasn’t the biggest, but not the smallest either. I looked up to scan the whole place, and even if my head still hurts from I don’t know what, I still tried to process what I saw in there. I was in a bed with a white sheet cover. On my right was a drawer. There was nothing more interesting in the room. I was simply in a room period. I went to the window to look for something, I don’t know what exactly it was, but it helped because from there I saw the sea. The sun shining high in the sky kind of made feel like I’m still alive. And I really thought I was going to die that night. Speaking of that night, I wonder if Jake and Rob are fine.

While I was buried deep into my worrying about Jake and Rob, heavy footsteps were clacking approaching the room. Well I obviously didn’t know what to do. Should I hide? Or should I just pretend I was asleep. But if do, then I might never know why I’m here for. I have to know what they want from me at least before I die. Noises of keys were heard from the other side of the door. I stood up to be ready to meet my kidnapper. Not that I would really want to meet him.

And in there a big man stepped in. He was just simply scary. Like the ones on TV that rides a motorcycle, he’s not something to be messed with. And I wonder how Jake and Rob fought with these kinds of men that night, because from as I remembered, the guys weren’t really far from this bulky man. “Good that you’re already conscious. Come with me, the director wanted to see you.” He told me, more like commanded me to move.

I stepped out of the room without saying anything. The guy didn’t seem worried about me escaping; he actually let me walked by myself behind him. But it did make sense since I’ve never been to the place and that I guess he just doesn’t expect me to run from someone like him. He could get me killed in one blow. Anyway, the place wasn’t actually where I thought a kidnapper would bring his victims. It wasn’t a destroyed house but a mansion. From where I was locked, it didn’t occur to me that I was actually in a beautiful mansion. I’ve walked like forever from hallways to hallways and it seemed like endless. And then in front of the usual huge double doors, the man stopped. He opened the door and he signaled me to walk inside.

I didn’t do what I was told. I stood right there as if my feet were nailed to the floor. I thought I wanted to see the kidnapper and know what he wants from me, but when I was about to do so, I was just there standing not able to walk.

But from where I was standing, I could hear faint voices from the inside. I couldn’t decipher the exact words but I knew they weren’t actually just talking, the voices were arguing. I was slowly pulled to the inside by the big man. Inside were huge paintings on the walls, and yes, there were not just four walls, there were more of it I didn’t bother myself counting. The place was a nice one, not really amazed anymore. The huge buffet table was nicely set and there were food everywhere. I did wonder why there was plenty of it because in the table, there were only three people who are seated. When one of them saw me, he stood up and as I was walking I saw Jake’s wounded face grim. He looked very tired but they weren’t exactly beaten up, I could tell. Rob was seated on Jake’s left expressionless. I don’t know what he has in mind but he looked like Jake. But more tired as if he’s been working all night, more like his mind was working all night. Their faces were both bruised although both are still very attractive in every angle.

And on Rob’s left was an old man on his suit. He was casually eating as if he has everything in the world. And maybe he did. He was an old looking man, not as old as grandpa I guess but near, and he has gray hair and his face lines are so obvious. He looked at me with pleasure and he stood up and said in delight, “Finally, the princess has woken up.”

“Emily are you okay?” Were the first words Jake spoke to me. He was so worried about me I guess, I could feel it. While my so called fiancé was there sitting on his chair as if he didn’t really notice me come in.
