I was standing in the middle of the lunchroom completely dumbfounded. Everyone was staring at me. I would have stayed there for the rest of the day if it wasn't for Nikki who came to my rescue. She brought me to the ladies room. There was no one in there when we came in which was really good because I would have never been able to take one more pitying stare from a stranger. Nikki helped me clean myself up but the look on her face totally got me nervous.
"What have you done?" She asked me worried.
"What did I do wrong? You know that it was an accident and I'm pretty sure he knows it too. But did you see what that asshole did? He actually threw the spaghetti on my shirt." I defended because really being blamed for something I didn't even mean to do by my bestfriend was disheartening.
"Em, you don't want to mess with him." She told me. She stopped helping me and started pacing in the room.
"Wait, why are you suddenly saying this? And who was that jerk anyway?" I asked her.
"He's Robert Antoine Guillaume Pierre Chadrin..."
"Are you done?"
"Well right before you interrupted me I was not." She glared at me.
I walked to her and tried to calm her down. "What's the use Nik, he's a jerk, I don't need to know who he is."
"Emily, he is the most important person in this school. Well, that's actually because he's the richest kid in here." She continued.
"Why didn't I know that?" Not that I would want to know that.
"Why would you know that? Ever since Jake got in here, your world was like revolving around him. You have become ignorant of the events that are happening in the school." Nikki accused. "Em, Rob Van Garrette is not the person you want to mess with. If you piss him, he can send you out of the school in just a snap. And what's worse? He wouldn't kick you out but he would bully you, or most likely torture you until you, yourself, would give up and quit school."
"Is that for real?" I swallowed my saliva. I knew it was disgusting but that was the only thing I thought of doing. Holy crap what did I get myself into. "But I mean it's normal for teenage boys to bully each other right? But he wouldn't really touch me since you know I'm a girl." I said hopeful.
"Well, it kind of was normal, but when he wants to torture them, he can. You know, there's this guy, a nerd one, he was walking in the hallway when he bumped into Rob. You know what he did? He kicked him in the face right then and there. The poor guy had spilled his bloody nose everywhere, but he really can't do anything about it. And well since you're a girl, it worried me more." Nikki exclaimed and she was almost hyperventilating. Her nerves got me even more worried.
"Wait, where am I when these kinds of things were happening?"
"It's not like you can do anything about it Em. But yeah, you are busy with Jake during these times."
"How long has this been going on?"
"Since the great Robert transferred here from abroad. We were sophomores then."
"So this has been going on for like more than two years now? Then how about telling the head of the school?"
"The head of the school and his subordinates are aware of this. They're just not saying anything because they too are scared of him. And they thought that students aren't saying anything anyways so they just ignore his wrong doings."
Lame and stupid.
"Are you serious? What happened to the students in here? Did they become mute and deaf? Or is it maybe that they were threatened by this jerk?"
