"Oh Allah! I was starting to think maybe you're ill or something, I haven't seen you since morning! This is 1pm now, I was about to come to your place." My mother in law hastily says, How time flies. I didn't even realise it was already one in the afternoon.

"No Hajiya Hajarah I thought of doing some chores before coming here," I lied, not because I didn't want her to know that I was on call with my friends. But it seems weird to me for her to know that I have stayed long enough talking to friends over phone.

"Silly, call me Ma. Everyone does the same here. You're like a daughter to me." she smiles lovingly and for a minute I wonder how Jameel did not take after her. She has a charming smile and a very cool personality.

"Come on in, I just finished making the food." she offered. I walk into the house and I'm taken back to the last time I was here. Nothing has changed really, it just look more tidier than before.

"Thank you Ma." I replied politely before taking my seat. I have no idea what to talk about with my mother in law, a part of me would really love it if we could get along but she's far too older than me, I doubt if we could. I just hope she wouldn't dislike me or hate me even for any reason.

"What's going on in your mind?" she asked. She picked up the TV remote and changed it to another channel.

"Well it's nothing Ma," I answered, I realised that I've been lying alot might I add since Jameel came into my life. Sighs.

She nodded focused on her channel. I took my attention off her and gave it to the TV. I was shocked to see my favorite TV show on. Normally, Aminah and I watch this series movie in my room every night at 9. I couldn't believe it was here too!

"Ma, what time do they display this show here?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Oh dear, it's 9 at night. I wasn't able to watch it yesternight so I'm re-watching it now. The repeat is around this time."

"Really! I couldn't watch it yesterday too, I'm so excited that it's here." I gushed, I can not even explain how happy I'm feeling seeing my favorite show on here. Marriage wouldn't be so boring if I have something to keep me busy right?

My mother in law also watching this show has doubled my joy.

The time flew by and before I knew it it was 5 in the evening! The first show has ended and we watched more movies with my mother in law. I couldn't contain my happiness as my mother in law and I were clapping hands when a certain scene gives us joy.

"Ya Allah, we have so much in common Areezah. I honestly cannot get bored if you're here with me," she says as the last show ended.

I smiled. "Ma, I did not know you're free either." I have been working on my communication skills Lately, I realise that I can not keep on shutting up all of the time. Sometimes it's better if I speak out right?

"I'm so happy that my son found someone like you. You're a blessing Areezah. May Allah keep you two together." she praises, I half smiled. I was kind-of happy hearing this from her, what I couldn't here from my foster mother. At least my husband's mother has blessed me.

"Ameen."

"I know it's not easy being with Jameel and given the circumstances you two got married it'd be hard. I also know that you two haven't grown warm to each other but I want to tell you that Areezah, Jameel is the softest person at heart. He's so much like me and maybe even more softer than me. He's just putting on a facade."

"I know he's nice, but not to me." I blurted. But, from the look on my mother in law's face she didn't mind. I could sense worry all over features.

"He has believed certain things which are not true about you, that's the only reason he hates you. I for once, didn't believe your foster mother. I know the whole truth because your biological mother was my friend."
