Areezah's point of view.
It's been one week since I saw daylight.
I've been at home literally mopping around within the confines of my room. You can say that I'm the sulkiest person in the world right now. My activity everyday is to sleep, eat, pray and put the same thing on repeat every day.
Aminah has been the one saving my life for the past one week. She brings food for me everyday, I might be broken but what would stop me from eating?
My mother despite knowing that I wasn't myself for the whole of a week she didn't bother asking or checking up on me. Of course she wouldn't, she wasn't used to it.
I didn't even get to oppose what she said because as always there was no room for objections. She wanted to get rid of me sugarcoating it in a 'getting married' way.
There was something behind the sudden marriage issue and I was going to find out the root if it. She had mentioned that the decision was for all.
Aminah barged into my room as she has always done for a week now but today she seems to be in a rush. "why the hurry?" I asked laying sprawled on my bed like a lifeless being.
She kept the breakfast at the bedside table then facing my mirror as she re-applied her makeup. "I have a shoot today and I'm afraid I'll get late."
"Oh," was all I could say. She turned towards me and frowned. "You should get out of this clothes Ya Aree, in fact of this house!" She ranted. This was not the first rant, she started it since day one and I'm surprised she hasn't grown tired of it.
"You know you've always said this and it doesn't prove futile. You should stop now." I said lazily.
"I have to! I just can't see you in this state. Are you going to spend the rest of the days you have left here with us in your room without at least making some memories?"
"The days I have left? Do you now have a death wish for me?" I was getting frustrated and agitated by the moment. I was just fed up of everything entirely.
"You know what I mean. This is what was destined for you, the sooner you accept it and face the situation the better." She said looking at me square on the face.
"I think I'm getting younger, if my small sister could give me a speech like this." I said, it was not suppose to be funny but Aminah laughed. She came over and sat close to me on the bed.
"Everything will be okay In sha Allah." Aminah said and I nodded before she left for her photoshoot.
My phone beeped with another message. The twins have been blowing up my phone since last week. Multiple messages a day that I just had to skip some. They got worried as to why I wasn't showing up in school and neither was I picking their calls nor answering their messages.
I didn't have the energy to tell them what was up until I was in the right state of mind.
I knew the twins would have visited if they had known my house. Hannan who knows never called or messaged talk less of visiting.
I felt like she was avoiding me.
Christy too, I haven't heard from her since the last time she walked out on us in the cafeteria.
Something told me to check the message sent. I rolled over to the other side of the bed and clicked it open. It was a message from the twins. They both delivered at thesame time. I clicked them open one after the other and they were both saying the same thing.
Their wedding was today.
How could I be so careless?
It's a Friday and the time reads 8:00am while the wedding was around 2:00pm. I still have time and even if I am not able to make it today there is still dinner tomorrow. I haven't even thought of a gift to give them.
