Arizona's pov
Finally ending the whole experience of the airport, I made my way to Sofia's school. I'd got changed into my nicer clothes in the airport bathrooms, and borrowed some makeup from Felicity. During the flight, we'd been talking. Well, she'd been making small talk to keep me distracted. I told her all about Sofia, and how I had to go to her school. Clearly she knew as well as I did I looked a mess.I walked into the school, surprised by how nice it actually looked. It wasn't as welcoming as Sofia's smaller school back in Seattle, but it could've been worse. I went to reception, and was then lead to the principals office.
Nervously, I knocked on the door. I don't really know why I was nervy, I wasn't the student. I stepped in and there was my daughter, a pout on her innocent little face, and more worryingly- no Callie in sight.
"Hi, Miss Robbins, it's great that you could make it" Sofia's principal greeted me. He was polite, but he didn't look happy.
Taking a seat next to Sofia, I had to correct him. "Sorry, it's doctor Robbins. This is a really nice school, I'm glad there was a place for Sofia."
"Today, your daughter has not been performing well. She seemed distracted, and when one of my members of staff asked her about it, she ran out of class and pushed a bin over. Not to mention the impolite behaviour with other children in her class." I could completely get why kids would be scared of him. I was.
"That really isn't like her, we raised her well and she's always been a sweet girl, haven't you Sof?" I have her a gentle look and a small smile. Something was definitely up with her.
"Well, here at this school we have a three strike policy. Sofia has two strikes left, and if she uses them up we will have to talk about suspension or even exclusion"
Taken aback by the strict rules of the man and his school, I tried my best to seem as fancy as him. "I will talk to my daughter tonight and make sure this does not happen again. Thank you sir"
I picked up Sofia's purple school backpack off the floor and put in on my shoulder, before taking her hand and walking out of school with her.
Once we were outside, I had to ask her about it.
"Sof, do you want to tell me what happened?" I asked nicely, not at all like that man talking down his nose at us.
She burst into tears, looking away from me. "I miss you mommy" I swear I physically felt my heart break.
Crouching down, I hugged her. "I missed you too baby"
"Are you coming to live with me and mama?" Her sweet little voice asked me.
"No, I'm sorry sweetie. But today we could go see a movie and get lots of popcorn" I replied with a smile.
"I want to go back home with you"
Half an hour later
We'd arrived at the movie theatre, and Sofia was picking out all the popcorn and sweets she wanted. It looked like it was getting quite pricy, but that wasn't the main priority. I'd been trying to call Callie ever since we got there, but still no answer.
"Callie? You there?"
"Arizona? Wasn't expecting a call from you"
"Yes well if you checked your phone once in a while you would see your daughter has been with the principal all day and I've flown across the country just to meet with him. So now she isn't in school we are at the movies because after being threatened with her being expelled from that horrible fancy school she started crying and said she wanted to move back to Seattle"
"I- Arizona I had no idea"
"Check your damn phone Callie" I paused for a second, "text me your address and I'll drop Sofia off later"
Before she could say anything else, I hung up.
