As the car slowly, slowly, slolwy started to come to a stop so did all the hope left in my body.
"No, no, no, no, no," I said. The jeep was barley even crawling now. It came to a stop just as the first snowflakes started to drif out of the grey clouds, and I let out a scream of impatience and banged my head against the steering wheel. Why? Why couldn't the short ugly man have filled this jeep with gas before giving it to me, huh?
Because. He was evil.
I swung the door of the jeep open and my boots hit the backroad gravel. It was snowing hard now, and cold. All I was in was a sweater and yogas. It was freezing.
I took out my phone and started to scroll through contacts. Who could I call? It was December 5th around nine pm, not too late. I could call my mom, or my brother Jackson, but then he'd have to pick me up in that car-
Hold up. I was in London. They weren't.
Oh, damn!
I screamed. If I had been on a highway, or at least a somewhat busy road, maybe it would have been okay. I wasn't in as good shape as I was a year ago, but I could probably still talk a guy into giving me a ride if I fixed my hair a little and pulled down my shirt, but this was a backroad. No one ever goes on backroads.
However, just as I thought that, I saw a light in the distance.
"Hey!" I screamed as if grew closer. It was a jeep, had to be, either that or a truck. Not any other cars were capable of standing out a backroad like this one, especially when there was snow on the ground. I ran into the middle of the road. Ahhhh, I was right. It was a jeep, the really expensive kind too, looked like a Commando. It skidded to a silent stop and for a second I just stared at it, admiring it's beauty.
The driver's door opened and black shoes hit the ground. The body continued to make it's way out of the car, and I watched closely as it did. The shoes looked expensive too, much like the car. I wasn't an expert on shoe brands or anything, but these were so nice and shiny that they had to cost more than my haircut.
Dark jeans were tucked into the sneakers, sagging above his thin waist slightly. He was wearing a white V-neck and on his arms was a black leather jacket. His hair was shaggy-ish, but you could tell that it wasn't natural but meant to be styled that way. His dark eyes nearly blended in with the night and his olive skin pretty much glowed.
He had a bad boy, mysterious vibe, but I was used to guys like that. Had to be.
"Hi," I breathed out.
His eyes looked me up and down, not in a pervertish way but in the same why that I had done to him. Just silently judging me, trying to figure out what kind of a person I was. I don't know what he saw. A girl in dark pants and a dirty white sweater that was too big becuase she liked it that way. A girl with long dark blonde hair that didn't seem to match her eyebrows, beause those were dark. Maybe he thought I had been a past brunnette, but I doubted he guessed I was a red-head. A girl with blue eyes that seemed like they should shine, but didn't. A girl hunched over slightly, with a past that he couldn't quite figure out.
Or maybe he just saw a girl standing in the middle of the damn road with no car.
"Hey," he did that weird nodding upward thing that boys always do. "You need a ride?"
I nodded. "Yeah."
He motioned for me to get in the passengers seat. "Come on in."
I felt kind of bad leaving my baby jeep there, but decided I had to. I could buy some gas and drive down tomorrow to pick it up, or call a tow truck to bring it to my flat. "I'm Zayn," the boy said. I had decided that the boy wasn't a pervert and seemed nice enough.
"Karly."
He looked over at me and smiled warmly. "American accent. You're not from here then?"
I shook my head. "Not nearly."
"Are you here on vacation?" Somehow he was able to look at the road and make eye contact with me as he spoke at the same time. It was weird, but cool, and I watched, trying to figure out just how he did it so maybe I could do it later.
"No," I said. "I'm here alone. My parents got sick of me, to say the least."
"So they sent to London?"
"It seems so."
He smiled at me again. "Well London's not so bad. It's a nice place, you'll like it. How long have you been here?"
"About two days."
"So you havn't really gotten to know the city yet. Youll fall in love when you do, I promise." He shifted, "So where to?"
It just dawned at me that I didn't know where the flat was without the GPS, which was in the jeep. "I don't know." I said, "My GPS-"
"Right, right," he said, "Silly Americans. Okay. Well my phone's dead, so you can't look it up on that. You got one?"
"Dead."
He laughed, "In that case, it looks like you're coming to my flat. You can look up how to get to your house there and I'll drive you."
I hestitated. Then stopped. It's not the smartest thing ever to just decided to let some random boy named Zayn take you to their flat, but I figured it was okay. Besides, what was the worst that was going to happen? He would rape me, kill me, do something like that? I'd be dead. So? Not like I had all that much to live for.
"Okay," I said finnaly. "Sounds good."
He smiled and turned on the music. We sat in silence for about ten minutes before pulling into his flat. It was big, nice, and shiny just like his car and his shoes. I stepped out as he turned the Commando off.
"There's some people over," he said as he shut his door. "My band. They're crazy lads, but they won't bother you too much."
"What's your bands name?" I asked as he unlocked the door and swung it open, giving me a full view of the boy with brown eyes I had met just this morning.
"One Direction."
I like this chapter better than the last one!
