The restraunt that Liam decided we should eat at was really called Dick's Last Resort. I personally wanted to go to California Pizza Kitchen, but Liam said no way in hell.
"Why not?" I complained.
"This place is way better," he answered as he swung open the door to enter. It didn't look all that amazing to me. It was fun, in a small burger joint kind of way. It looked cheap, unhealthy, and yummy. Just the sort of place that I would have gone to with Cody, now that I put it that way.
There he was again. I'd gone a total half hour without thinking of him, but he always seemed to find his way back to me.
"Are you sure?" I asked Liam, who was now walking up to ask for a table.
"Positive," he answered, and started to talk to the girl behind the table. She was pretty, with long light blonde hair and light blue eyes. Skinny, but curvy. Her name tag read: Sarah.
"Hello," she greeted us, and those pretty blue eyes of hers seemed to get brighter when she saw Liam. "How many?" she asked.
"Two," Liam answered.
"Fantastic," Sarah said, grabbed two menus, and lead us to a table. She set the menus down and left without saying anything else, leaving Liam and I alone.
"So." Liam said, "You like those boots that I got you?"
"I still can't beileve you throw thirty hundred dollars around like it's nothing," I responded. My hand reached for the bag under the table that held the combat boots. My fingers brushed the soft plastic, eager to make sure that it was still safe. I tugged it closer to me, fearful that it would somehow get lost.
Liam shrugged. "I make a lot of money."
A boy walked over to our table. He was short, with brown hair and some stubble. His nametag read: Sean so I figured that he was our waitor. When he reached our table he turned around and grabbed a chair from the table behind us, spun it, and then sat with one leg on either side of the back of the chair facing us. "Sup?" he asked.
"Who are you?" I asked, turning to the boy.
"Your waitor, smarty." He snickered and turned to Liam, saying, "She ain't a keeper."
My mouth fell open. "So, what I can get you dummies to drink today?" Sean asked. He turned to Liam, "I'm asumming you want a beer? You could use one, taking that girl out on a date. I know I would need one."
I gaped at the boy, shocked. "Just a coke for me," Liam laughed.
"Ight, and you fireball?" Sean asked.
"Um, a coke."
"Ight, be back whenever," he said, stood up, and walked away.
"What the bloody hell was that?" I asked Liam, who was still laughing.
"It's how this place works. The waitors are supposed to be rude. It's hilarious, me and the lads come here all the time."
My eyes widened. "You're telling me they get paid to be rude?"
Liam nodded. "Yup. Probably the second best job ever, right after being a famous singer of course." He saw my still shocked expression and snickered. "Just go with it, Karly. Be rude back it you want to."
It dawned on me that Liam thought of me as this sweet, nice girl. Well, maybe not sweet. The first day we met I wasn't exactly a cupcake to him, but I somewhat nice when I was with him. Maybe it was because he always seemed so polite. The boy with brown eyes was annoying, yes, but he was overall nice. Back when I was friends with Cody and them I was a bitch. Lauren and I were so mean to some of the kids at school. I was litteraly known as the beatiful, red-headed school hoe, and Lauren was my pretty blonde side-kick with the hot boy named Brandon lingering at her side, studying her every move. And then, after Cody died, I wasn't the beautiful red-headed school hoe, just the school hoe, no strings attached. I was rude to everyone. Everyone that had the guts to talk to me, that was. Even my mother. And therapist. Everyone, period. I hadn't been this nice to someone since Cody was alive. And here Liam was, thinking I didn't know how to be even slightly mean. Pssssh. Wait till he saw what I could do.
"Okay, if you say so," I answered. Sean came back, carrying two glasses of coke. He set them at the end of the table, not bothering to pick them up and put them in front of us.
He opened his mouth to speak but I beat him to it. "Are you gonna use those hairy hands of yours for some good use and bring that closer to me, or what?"
He turned to me, eyes a little shocked, but humor quickly took it's place. "Why? You can't do it yourself?"
"I could, if I really wanted to. It's a shame that I don't want to do your job for you though. You do get paid to bring me my beverages and food, right?" He nodded. "So bring me my beverage. Please."
"Aaahhh, so we know how to use our manners," he said, nodding in approval. "Marvelous," he said, picking up the glasses, and setting them in front of me and Liam. "Since you seem to fixtaxed on me doing my job, what do you wanna eat, fireball?"
"Can I ask you why the hell you keep calling me fireball?"
He chuckled. "That hair or yours. It looks like it's on fire."
"Your humor is enjoyable," I answered. "I want a chicken sandwhich with a side of chips."
He studied me. "So you're a food girl, eh? Most chicks that come in here order a salad."
Rude.
"Naw, not me. You should think about trying one though. I'm sure whoever your girl is would love it if you got a six-pack. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize. A boy like you couldn't get a girl. Woops."
He mumbled something under his breathe and turned to Liam, who was watching me with shock. "Whatdya want, man?" Sean asked him.
"Uh, a burger and fries."
"Coming out whenever," he answered and left.
I smirked to myself, taking a sip of the coke. "Karly," Liam said.
"Hhhhm?" I asked, looking up.
"That was kind of amazing."
I smirked. "I'm not quite as innocent as you think, Liam."
Note:
