"Austin?" Karla beamed as she hugged me tightly.

"Why are you alone at home? Where's father?" I asked.

Karla shrugged her shoulders. And, her smile quickly faded.

"Can you live with us, again? I'm scared to be all alone,"

"Have you eaten yet?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"I haven't, but Mrs Thomas already cooked for me before she left,"

"Why she left you all alone?"

"Because I asked her to," 

Ashley sighed. 

"Come, let's eat,"

"Oh, wait! Clara James is here. She's at your room," Karla said excitedly.

Ashley flinched. "She what? Why you let a stranger come in?"

"She's not a stranger, she's your girlfriend, right?" 

"Where do you get that idea?" I said annoyedly as I rushed to Austin's room. 

"Wait for me!" Karla said as she ran faster.

Thump, thump, thump.

"What are you holding there?" He asked annoyedly as he roughly took the picture from my hand.

Shit! That caught me off guard. 

He stared at the picture, with longing eyes.

"Where do you get this?" He said in a shaky tone.

"Behind your pillow,"

He nodded slowly.

"Clara, do you want to join us for dinner?" said Karla.

Austin gave me a death glared. It's like, he's asking me to reject Karla's offer.

"Can I?" I asked, as I was smirking at Austin, who looked annoyed.

"Of course, you can! Right, Austin?" Karla asked Austin.

Austin nodded with a fake smile on his face. 

"Karla, can you go down first? I want to talk to—" 

"Come on, Karla! Let's go down," I stopped him as I excitedly grabbed Karla's hand and left Austin.

"Oh no, it seemed that the foods already spoil..." "Why don't we ask Clara to cook for us? She's a really good chef," Austin chuckled as he threw the food away.

We exchanged annoyed glared.

"Really? Wow! Can you please cook for us?" Karla asked me with her cute puppy eyes.

Ughh, she's so cute.  Clara murmured mentally. 

"Of course. Since you are the cutest girl I've ever seen in my life," I winked playfully at her.
