-Jessica-

"You don't have to hurt her like that. You know how sensitive she is with that kind of topic..." Elizabeth Roswell said with a cold tone, as she sipped her favourite wine.

"But I had to..." I said, as I clenched my fists.

I never want to hurt the people that I loved the most. It's hurting me more.

Elizabeth Roswell took in a deep breath. "Don't blame me if she loses interest with you since I want to gain hers too. I've already lost so many merits, so I don't want to lose any more,"

I lowered down my eyes, not knowing how to answer her.

"And I'm sure you know that we will escape from this place... Right?" She said.

Her eyes are cold and darker than any blue eyes. Yet, her dark blue eyes shine brightly, tenderly, when she's around Angeline and her daughter, Ashley.

"Yes, Mrs Roswell."

"I hope you will tell your bodyguards to not fight much," She gave a subtle smile before she left me all alone.

I really hope Ashley was more gentle and warm as Angeline, but she became more like Elizabeth.

Raven walked towards me.

"Are you sure you are not going to say sorry to her? What if she grows more distant to you?"

My heart throbbed when I saw her expression when I said those words. But...

"If I didn't do that, she will act recklessly. I don't want to lose her. At the same times, I don't want her to lose her own emotions. That is her weakness that Enrique used to defeat her,"

"Sigh, if that's your reasons," Raven nodded.

"Raven,"

"Yes?"

"Tell all the main forces to turn a blind eye tonight..."

"Thank you for coming here, Jessica," Derick said, beamed as he stared at me lustfully

"Thank you for coming here, Jessica," Derick said, beamed as he stared at me lustfully.

It sickened me.

I nodded coldly, as a replied.

"I couldn't believe that you want to marry me," Derick said excitingly. He continued,  "I know it. Even if you are the Huttington heiress, there's no better candidate than Derick Roswell."

I didn't reply, nor did I focus on him. My mind is filled with Ashley's hurting expression.

Seeing me expressionless, Derick continued talking.
