Chapter 38

After what happened, I immediately lost consciousness. I don't know what happened, because the last thing I remember was when I said I love him, and ever since then, he has never shown up to me again.

As it turned out, he just seemed to reject my confession. He seemed to be hiding from me, afraid of the things I said. I don't know if I will be angry, sad, confused, or ask him questions after what happened that night. Maybe it's good for him to stay away so that I can think about how I feel about him, plus the fact that he's a former archangel. Something I wanted to ask but was afraid he would not answer. I'm afraid to think about it; who am I to ask him to reveal his secret?

"Boo!" I almost jumped while standing in the waiting shed because of Gavin's sudden appearance. Saint's Grim Reaper friend.

I was just quietly waiting for the bus because I was planning to go to the supermarket. It's still raining, and this grim reaper has the urge to surprise. At that moment, I felt like I wanted to twist his neck. "I'm sorry I surprised you." He even laughed at the statement. I just rolled my eyes before ignoring him.

For almost a week since Saint has been missing in action, Gavin has been following me every day. I don't even know why he does that. As far as I know, the souls he will fetch are far from the places I go to.

However, even if I wanted to question him, I could not. There are a lot of people around us, and if I speak alone, they will mistake me for being crazy. That's why, even though my tongue is itching to ask questions, I control myself.

I got on the first bus that passed by.

Today, Hailey's family driver is not at home, so I don't have a choice but to take the commute. We don't have class because it's Halloween vacation.

When I sat down at the end of the bus seat, I was not surprised to see Gavin was there too. I just widened my eyes as if threatening before I sat down next to him.

If Saint's temper is too annoying with his coldness, his grim reaper friend irritates me with his naughty behaviour.

"Where are we going?" He asked mischievously. "Let's go to Japan!" When he said that, my forehead frowned. Angrily, I pulled out my cellphone and from there I pretended to have calls coming from it.

"Why in hell are you following me, Gavin?" I asked without looking at him.

He just laughed at me. "You're funny! You don't even have anyone to talk to on your phone. " He laughed.

Shit! He enjoys annoying me.

"It's better than talking to you in person, because then people will surely look at me like I am crazy! " I said emphatically. The people on the bus kept turning to me. Maybe because my voice is rising too high.

"Easy, Guardian of the Soul."

Fuck! He is annoying.

"Damn, Gavin, if you won't tell me why you are following me. I will not hesitate to call Saint now and say, "You are harassing me." When I said that, he stopped laughing.

"Harassing you? Oh, that's bad Guardian of Soul. You are making up a story. " He mumbled, but I'm a bitchy one, so I started counting as if mocking him to say something.

"One."

"The Guardian of the Soul is not deceitful."

"Two."

"Hey, I can't say."

"Three,"

Gavin admitted just as I was about to say Saint Name.

"Saint wants me to watch over you because he has a lot of paperwork to take care of in the Underworld Realm. He has to finish that and submit it to the Grim Council of the Death Ministry. " He quickly answered something that stopped me. Is Saint watching over me? Why?

"Isn't it obvious? "

That's when my forehead furrowed again.

What is obvious?

"What are you muttering about?" I asked while frowning.

"He's watching over you because you are his girlfriend." At that moment, my lips parted.

"Are you all right, Gavin? Are you sick? What girlfriend are you saying those words to? " I was nervous that it was the truth. However, I can't deny that I felt a little happy with what he said.

"Why? You aren't? " Gavin's eyes widened as he seemed even more surprised by the fact that Saint and I were not in a relationship yet. Wait, what am I saying? We will never be, because that is impossible. "After all, what do you guys have done?" The grim reaper next to me had already covered his lips as if shocked. That's when the small smile on my lips disappeared and I frowned.

"You should go." I am hoping that, from what I said, this grim reaper will go. "You don't have to watch over me anymore. I can handle myself. " With traces of resentment, I said that. I'm not sure why I'm annoyed with Saint. But maybe that's normal for people who experience rejection. It's just funny because of all the people, the grim reaper rejected my feelings. I wish I had made a lot of boyfriends when I was still living as Mary Sean. In that way, I'm not fumbling with how I feel now. I would probably no longer cry every night. I will no longer feel sad and feel dead every time I am alone.

But when the thought that I was not a normal person came back to my memory, I ended up grinning and shaking my head.

"Do you guys have LQ?" Honestly, Gavin is the only Grim Reaper I know besides Saint, but I can say he knows more about people than Saint. Maybe because Saint used to be angels and Gavin was a former human?

I just sighed and did not answer. From there, I put down my cellphone.

The bus stopped at the same time, so I got up. But right then, my eyebrow arced when the bus I was riding on suddenly turned into a train. When I turned to the people around me, I gasped. Japanese people surrounded me, something that I was not surprised about.

I turned to the culprit, and the cause of the sudden change in the incident. Gavin was there and chuckled, as if enjoying my surprise reaction.

"Welcome to Japan!" He uttered it excitedly. It looks like I will buy groceries in Japan today.

In a remote and secluded place, a pig woman traveled to reach the town where she was planning to buy something to eat. But unexpectedly, a male pig came and joined the female pig.
