Chapter 51
"I promise your daughter won't experience anything under my su—" My mother spoke again, and Saint didn't finish what he was saying.
"It's too late; it's all too late, Saint. I've agreed with the Death Minister. I've signed my daughter's name as the next guardian of the soul. I'm passing my duty on to my daughter. It will only go to her and nothing else. " It was at that moment that Saint's previously emotionless face collapsed. His eyes suddenly widened, and suddenly anger enveloped him. While my mother is just smiling mischievously, it seems like she hates Saint to the core. "Why? Don't you think I can do it? Your father didn't say so? My 3000 thousand years of repeated reincarnation as punishment are over. You should know that. "
"That girl is mine. What right do you have to hand her over to the death ministry without telling me? " Saint's voice was cold.
"She's my child. I know what's best for my child. " Mom was beyond furious. "I will decide the life she will lead and not you!"
"Don't try me, Eve Ivanovich!" That loud shout from Saint's continued to soar into the quiet road. It seemed at that point that all the hair on my body stood up, and I was even more nervous.
"Why? What are you going to do to me? You're going to kill me too? You're going to kill me too, as Adam did? I already know each one of you. When the god you all worship turns his back on you, you'll pile everything on us! You and your youngest brother! You're all the same! " I can no longer catch up with what they are talking about. However, there is a part of me that makes up the theory to understand what is happening in front of me. "Mary, run away. Get out of here and forget everything you've seen and heard. Understand? " My mom whispered to young Mary, hiding behind her. My younger self nodded innocently and ran away, but at the same time as young Mary suddenly ran away, Saint closed his eyes. Everything moved again in an instant, and he quickly approached the young me to lift her away from my mother, whom he had finally let run over the track.
My whole body trembled, and my eyes widened as I watched my mother's body crash into the raging track. I couldn’t help but cover my lip and let the abundant tears seep into my eyes.
What is this?
At Saint's speed, the feathers of his wing flew in the air. Things that my younger self stared at while shocked at what had happened to her mother. Those are the feathers I’ve been dreaming of lately. Those nightmares are coming from here.
"Oh god." That's all I said before falling to the floor. Crying, I closed my eyes and bowed. I was overwhelmed by the memories I had witnessed. I could not understand what they were fighting and talking about. However, it was clear to me that Saint had killed my mother. He let my mother die.
Damn it! In the volume of the angel of God in heaven. Why does it have to be Saint? I can't understand this! No way! I don't want to understand this situation anymore.
When I tried to look up, we were again in Lucifer's paradisiacal place. He just stood next to me and silently watched me.
"What's going on? I'm confused. " Trembling, I asked. "W-Why is that?" I asked him again, tearfully, but Lucifer was telling me only one thing.
"As their eldest brother, I want to invite you again to come with me. There you will forget all this. In my place, nothing will hurt you. " At this point, Lucifer's face was serious, unlike his previous expression a while ago. "I offer you to escape reality. Will you come? " My eyebrows met with what he said. I thought we were done with this conversation. Why does he insist on this? I'm in a mess, but he's still keeping up with me.
"You know, I won't come even if you insist," I said, even though I was still crying.
"Okay, at least I tried."
He was about to touch me, as if he was going to touch my head and pat it, when suddenly I heard a loud thud. The door seemed to open loudly, until the sound was replaced by a shout from Saint.
"Get away, Lucifer!" That's when I woke up. Breathlessly, I woke up from lying down on a bed as if someone had choked me for a long time. When I turned my gaze around there, I saw Saint carrying his sword as he pointed it at the window of the room where Lucifer was now sitting.
Compared to his serious face a while ago, he is grinning again now. That seems like the only intention is to play.
"Pity, if you had slept more for a few seconds, I would have caught you." He smirked. "The body you're with would have died and you could do nothing but come with me. It's really unfortunate. " He complained. The reason behind my sudden widening eyes.
So, if I stay longer in that dream, will he take me? Very cunning indeed.
"Lucifer Morningstar, I order you to leave my house now!" Saint's voice was so full of anger that it suddenly reminded me of his face that I had witnessed earlier. Because of that, I can't even look at him.
"Is that how you treat your older brother, Saint Archangel? I don't think Father taught you correctly—" Lucifer didn't finish what he was going to say when Saint threw a big flying fireball at him from his sword. "Fine!" It was there that Lucifer disappeared like a bubble with a great fire that seemed to swallow everything in the window.
That's when the whole room lit up. Saint's sword disappeared completely, and he hurriedly hugged me. Even though it was messy, I couldn't help but close my eyes and hug him. All I want right now is to cry nonstop.
"I'm so sorry. If I only knew it was going to happen, I wouldn't have left you alone to sleep in this room. We had a meeting downstairs, and it was too late when I noticed something strange in the house. I'm so sorry." He even caressed my back as if in that way I would calm down. However, I cried even more. I know that what I saw in my dream before is not just a product of Lucifer's manipulation. That’s true because I already remember. That’s true because until now I still knew every detail of what happened.
Trembling, I tightened my grip on my boyfriend and let myself lean on his shoulder.
"Shh, shhh, I'm sorry. Shh, I love you. " He barely kissed my forehead, head, and hair. He kept whispering that thing to me without even noticing that it made me cry even more.
It's mirthful to think that we were destined for each other, but it doesn't give prosperity at all because it hurts to think that he is the one who killed my mother. He let my mother die even though he could have saved her.
Damn it! Why such a chaotic fate?
But in her sleep, Lucy did not think she would be taken to a frightening place. There are many monsters around. Other people fly, moan loudly, and rush closer to Lucy, their eyes bulging and their nails lengthening. Because of that, young Lucy struggled to run, terrified, trembling, and weeping. At that point, young Lucy was shouting nothing but the name of her Lola Madra. But no matter what she called for, she failed.
