Chapter 49

"Will you marry me?" That was Saint’s question as he knelt in front of me and the altar. He was wearing a white suit and slacks. His commanding posture sent shivers up my spine. But when he smiled at me while revealing the small box where the ring was, all of a sudden, I felt warm.

That silver ring looks very beautiful. Infinity is the design of it with tiny diamonds around it. It is further embellished by an engraved flower stem that joins the separate diamonds together.

I was filled with astonishment at that point. My only recollection is that I fell asleep. Why is the scene like this now? It's frightening, but I knew I had no intention of clarifying in my mind what was going on.I just let everything go and indulged myself for a moment.

At that moment, I could not help but stare even more at the man kneeling in front of me. Compared to my usual Saint, this man now smiles widely at me. Something I hope to see in him all the time, even if it seems impossible. His aura is also very light but authoritative, and his eyes are tender.

I smiled at that.

It is not hidden from my knowledge that since childhood I have dreamed of getting married. Normal events happen in a human's life. However, in my case, there was no chance back then, so I tried to bury it in my mind completely.

The funny thing is that I just remembered it again now.

"Will you marry me?" Smiling, Saint asked again. It's so good to hear. My ears loved the way Saint pronounced it. Which is why I'm even happier.

My dream is happening in front of me right now with the person I want to see perform in my dream. This temptation is comforting. It seems like I just want to be swayed.

"Will you marry me?" The third time Saint repeated that word, I gasped. This temptation is surreal, but I'm not stupid enough to think that this is just a normal dream.

"Come out. Who are you? I know this is a dream." I said before turning my gaze around. That's when I noticed that so many people were watching us from afar today. I even had a glance at Dad Arman, who was standing not far away next to a familiar face. For a moment, I felt happy when I saw them both. This joy I am feeling right now seems to command me to approach them. I couldn't help but realize that this joy I am feeling right at the moment is what I am desperately looking for. A joy that I would love to be swayed by, but I won't do it.

This is all a dream. It's just a dream because reality is slapping me with the fact that Saint will never propose to me in front of me. We also can't get married. Even the fact that my parents are here is because they couldn’t be alive. Especially Mom. They are not real, because all this is  an illusion. I knew that because my two eyes witnessed my mother's death and how I buried and mourned my father.

"I thought I could order you quickly, but I guess I was wrong." There, I turned to the man kneeling in front of me. A while ago, it was Saint who was kneeling, but what I see now is Lucifer. He's so beautiful in my eyes that I can't take my eyes off of him. This is proof that Lucifer is a living temptation. Though not for me, I guess, because even if he's beautiful in my eyes, Saint was still the handsome and gorgeous man I met. "My visit was wasted. I can't even take you to my kingdom, even in a dream. " He seemed disappointed as he grinned at me.

I sighed with that before my gaze went back to my mother and father as their appearance slowly disappeared.

"You're wasting your time on me, Lucifer," I commented without blinking.

"Yeah, I think it is." Because of his disappointed tone, I couldn't help but laugh. "I forgot you were a creature who could determine the thing between death and life." I didn't even look back at him, but I knew he was looking at me. "I still wanted to make you my queen. Something that my holy brother can't give you. " Because of what he said, I was distracted. There, I looked back at him.

"Brother?" He smirked.

At that point, I realised that the demon in front of me now used to be an angel. Angels were given strength and life by God and were considered to be his children. It can only mean one thing. Saint and Lucifer are siblings.

He sighed.

"You're smarter than I expected. You're smarter than most humans. What do you think of coming with me and being my queen, Guardian of Soul? " He still didn't lose his smirk in the face. However, it disappeared when I looked at him seriously.

"I know you know my answer." He sighs as if defeated. I don't know why I can't feel afraid of him by now, but I guess it's because this place where we are right now is just part of my dream. "You won't get anything out of me, Lucifer. Just find someone else you can take. " There he shrugged his shoulders before speaking again, deviating from what we were talking about.

"I thought you wouldn't notice or realize that it was your mother. I didn't expect that you would still remember her face. So, you remember her by now? " I nodded in agreement before I decided to sit on the grass field.

In a flash, our situation changed. Now we are on a steep mountain. The place was so beautiful that Lucifer seemed to secretly entice me to just stay here and never wake up again.

"It's very nice here, Lucifer, but you can't seize me with things like this. You know, I still have the same answer, and that is, I'm not going with you. " But instead of arguing with me, he sat next to me, and from there we looked at the paradisiacal place he created for himself.

"Tsk! If that's your decision, I won't force you anymore. " I no longer believed what he said. However, I let myself calm down at the scene, even for a moment. But over and over again, the memory of my mother's face messed up my mind. For the first time in so many years, her face came back to my memory. My smiles and every time she teased me when I was young came back to my mind. It was like a dump truck trying to blow up my mind.

I couldn't help but sigh.

The memories I tried to cultivate are coming back to me now.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lucy who lived in the middle of the lofty province of Apayao. One day, Lucy was ordered by her grandmother, Madra, to clean her room. However, instead of following her grandmother's command, Lucy chose to go to sleep so that her grandmother would not command her.
