Tris' POV
After dinner, we all go to the ladies room, Tobias wanders around taking to various selection girls before making his way over to me, Christina, Marlene and Shauna.
"Hello Ladies, may I join you?" He asks politely...stiffly, locking eyes with me. Of course, the other three release small squeals and let him sit between them. Their conversation is boring to me and I cant help but look longingly out of the window. I would kill to go outside right now, despite the fact it's almost dark.
"Beatrice?" I frown as Tobias catches my attention by using my real name. The other girls have moved to talk to Prince Eric, Tobias' cousin. His other cousin has stayed glued to his parents since he arrived. I look at him, waiting for him to speak since I'm not talking first.
"Tris, I'm sorry for earlier. I'm just bored of competing against someone who you met for two hours maximum." Tobias says, glancing up at through some hair that has found its way in front of his eyes. I push away, smiling softly at him.
"Just for the record, I like Tobias more that I like Four. I'm just scared to tell him." Tobias smirks.
"Well, you see, there's this girl with an awesome nickname and even better real name that I really like, but I think she's too scared to tell me if she feels the same way or not." Tobias leans forward so his lips are by my ear.
"If I was allowed kiss you here, right now, I would."
"I'd let you."
Tobias' POV
"I'd let you." She doesn't understand how much I want to do. I pull away from her, rubbing my fingers along the back of her hand to comfort her. I can see Patricia and Molly glaring at her like she's fresh meat and I know I will have to have a guard stay outside her door from now on since she doesn't let her maids stay every night.
Marcus walks over, glaring at Tris. I swear all he does is glare at her.
"Son, why don't you go and talk to some of the other ladies. Your aunt and uncle want to talk to Lady Beatrice." Tris stiffens slightly beside me and I can see in her eyes that she's begging me not to leave. Taking a deep breathe I stand and leave to talk to Lady Myra on the other side of the room.
Aunt Jeanine and Uncle Charlie are soon beside Tris, Auntie even sitting down beside her and taking Tris' hand into her own. Tris is shaking, biting her lip softly, her dress spread perfect around her small frame...
"Prince Tobias?" Patricia smiles sweetly at me, coming and sitting between me and Myra and Molly taking the space on my other side.
"Good evening ladies." I engage in conversation with the horrific two until my father enters with cousin Augustus by his side, he must have stayed with Marcus while his parents talked to Tris. He calls me over and we leave the room, my auntie, uncle and cousins coming too.
"Tobias, how would you feel about letting Lady Beatrice leave the selection and going with your Auntie and Uncle to England?"
