Trying To Have a Normal Life

Mom and I were living in DC for the past 8 years mom had started dating a guy, his name is Jake Ballard I didn't like Jake at all I hated him so bad because he had come between my mother and father, my relationship with Jake was not good at all well not from my end, he tried multiple times to have quality time with me but I wasen't have it and he was aware that he was not in my good side and mom always told him " Give her time, she will adjust to you, she has never seen the presence of another man that is not her father, and she feels that you are doing that, you are replacing her father but we both know is not like that". He keep coming around, having dinner with us, spending the night over and we use to take trip's together when I wasen't spending time with dad.

Dad presidency was coming to an end and he was very excited to have a normal life again with his children, dad always told me that the Vermont house  was for mom and him, there they would have a normal life after been president. But seen how things were going he was not thrilled at all because his dream of been with the love of his life was not a thing anymore. Jake had proposed to mom and she said yes, I was so upset and sad so the following day on my way out of school I manage to escape from the secret service guys that dad had looking after me.  

He was informed by secret service what had happend and he was not happy with what I had done so he called mom to ask if I was with her or at her office.....

Olivia: Hello....

Fitz: Is Elizabeth with you...or at your office...?

Olivia: No, she's supposed to be at school don't you have you secret service boys looking after her.

Fitz: They've just inform me that she some how manage to escape from them, is everthing okay with her, she sounded upset over the phone last night when we talked.

So dad had his team looking for me and mom had uncle Huck also looking for me so I had turn my phone off because I knew Huck could track me if I had  my phone turn on, so there I was this 9 year old kid walking the streets of DC, I had stumble uppon the little ice cream shop were dad, mom and me used to go when we first moved to Washington. Dad left the White House rushing because he was inform by secret service that I was found in an ice cream shop and he immediately new which one it was.

As I started eating my ice cream I saw the place getting empty I knew who was in the shop dad was sitting facing me....

Fitz: You know your in trouble right.. what were you thinking ? (he said with a strong voice)

Lizzy: I know  (I answered with a low voice)

(DAD'S PHONE RANG)

Olivia: Did you find her...... I tried calling her but she turned her phone off.

Fitz: Yes and she is safe, I'm with her, after this I will be taking her to your office.

Olivia: Okay 

Fitz: Your mother was worried sick, because of what you did.

Lizzy: I'm sorry.

Fitz: You know what would happen if the press finds about what took place and that I'm involved.

Lizzy: I'm sorry dad, it will not happend again.

Fitz: We are going to your mother's office, let's go.

And as soon we arrived at OPA there was a complete silence because first of all POTUS was at there office and secondly there was mom standing at the door and by the look in her face I knew she was not happy with what I've done, but as I entered her office she just hugged me and asked me if I was alright and I answered ( YES I'M FINE )

Olivia: What were you thinking..???

Lizzy: I'm sorry, it will not happen again.

Fitz: I already gave her a lecture.

Olivia: Well I'd  like to let you  know that you're grounded for the next week, and the sleepover at Christina is cancel.

Fitz: And you will be spending the entire week at the White House, as ponishment.

Olivia: You already heard your father.

So mom and dad talk something over, there I was just watching them and dad didn't knew Jake had proposed and he didn't knew had said yes.

Lizzy: Are you going to tell him..? ( I SAID )

Fitz: Tell me what...?

Olivia: This matter is between your father and I.

Fitz: What's going on.

Lizzy: SHE'S GETTING MARRIED.......

They looked at each other and dad had the saddest look on his face and he just told mom to call in case of an emergency gave me a kiss in the forehead and took off, mom looked at me and told me ( You and I will have long conversation when we get home). It was time to go home I said good night to everybody at OPA and on our way home there was a silence the entire drive mom keep watching me through the rearview mirror and I was looking outside the entire time.

We got home and I went straight to my room and slammed the door, an hour went by and it was dinned time Jake had brought chinese so we eat I'd finished and went back to my room, brushed my teeth and as I was getting ready to go to bed mom came in the room...

Olivia: You know what you did today was bad right..

Lizzy: I'm sorry mom, it will not happend again.

Olivia: I know you are upset, sad and angry at me, because I'm with Jake and not your father, but I have feelings for Jake and I'm happy with him, why can you be on mommy's side.

Lizzy: Mom but I know you don't love him the way you love Dad... the way you and Dad look at each other in your presence that's true love.

Olivia: Your father and I have our story.......baby your father will always have a piece of my heart because he was the first man I feel in love deaply and that love and passion that we felt for each other gave us our LOVE CHILD,  but your father has his life and I have mine and what we share in common will always be our special connection that is YOU. And what you did today don't ever doit again, don't you ever scare me or your father like that ever again. 

That was the first time I had and argument with my mom.
