Chapter 19

This chapter takes place after Honor Among Thieves 2x20

4 months after jacks birth

"So this is the little boy who stole your heart" Elizabeth smiles at her daughter as Emily played with him on the floor of her apartment

"It is" she smiled back

"Just be careful I don't want you to get hurt" her mother told her. Knowing that if something happened and they break up. Emily would be even more heartbroken. She had taken the role as jacks mother in Aaron's eyes but Emily hadn't thought of herself as jacks mother.

"I know mom" Emily replied

"So how are you doing?" The ambassador asked

"I'm good Mom. I'm spending most of my free time with Aaron helping him with Jack." Emily said
"A lot has changed these past months" she added with a few tears in her eyes. She tried to hide it but her mother saw

"Emily. What's wrong?" Elizabeth said as she placed her wine on the table so it's out of jacks reach. Aaron what's about to come down stairs from his shower but he stopped and listened

"What if Hayley suddenly comes back? He'll leave me. I mean it makes sense she's his mother right" she admitted as a tear tracked down her right cheek

"He won't do that Emily. I see the saw he looks at you I've seen it since day one" her mother replied running her shoulder from the position on the couch.

"I know, but I guess that fear is alway there you know" Emily said turning to look at her mother as jack slept in the baby swing Emily bought him 5 weeks ago

"Have you told Aaron this?"

"No mother. How am I supposed to tell him. He'll think I'm over reacting" Emily sighed Aaron kind of felt hurt that she would think that. He made his way into the living room after a few moments

"Hey sweetheart" he said kissing her cheek

"Hey"

"Well I guess I should head home. Dinner was lovely" Elizabeth thanked them standing up

"Mom do you want to stay over I have a extra room" Emily said wanting to spend more time with her

"It's okay darling I'm flying out tomorrow morning I still have to pack" she replied

"Oh. Um okay then I'll see you some other time" Emily told her mother. A hint of emotion in her voice.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. But we can do brunch when I come back" she smiled and hugged Emily

"Yeah that would be nice"Emily replied refusing to let her tears fall as her mother left

Meanwhile JJ, Reid and Morgan where at Garcia's house for a movie night. Emily would of come but she canceled last minute saying she wanted to spend time with her mother

"Did you guys notice how much time Emily is spending with Hotch?" Garcia said

"I know right. I wonder what her boyfriend thinks?" JJ asked

"Emily told me he was overseas on a business trip" Reid replied

"I think there's something going on there. They are way to touchy to be just friends" Morgan
said

"Morgan they have been best friends since they were teenagers" Garcia told hitting his shoulder

"I'm just sayin" he replied throwing his hands up defensive

"They'd be cute together though" JJ smiled and so did Garcia

"See where I'm coming from" Morgan said

"Can we watch the movie now?" Reid asked which made them laugh

At Emily's apartment

"I love you" Aaron told Emily placing a kiss on her shoulder wrapping his arms around her from behind as she cleaned the kitchen.

"I know" Emily replied as she leaned her head back on his shoulder. She missed these little moments between them. They hadn't got much time together since Jack was born

"I wouldn't think your over reaching by the way" he said interlacing their finger on her abdomen as they looked out at the city

"What?" Emily asked confused turning around in his arms to face him

"I understand that your worried. But I love you and I'm not going back to Hayley. You give me everything I need and so much more" Aaron replied picking her up and setting her down on the kitchen island

"You heard that" She sighed

"I did and don't worry about it okay." He told her kissing her softly holding her waist

"I'm sorry I know I shouldn't worry so much about it" Emily said leaning her forehead down agains his

"Come on let's go to bed" Aaron replied brushing her hair out of her facing and stretching his hand out for her too take

"Aaron" she said as she got off the island

"Yeah babe" he stopped walking and turned around. Emily pulled him into a passionate kiss. It was full of love and admiration.

"I love you" she told him keeping her hands on his face she stroked his jaw. She yawned and Aaron chuckled

"Come on pretty girl." He said grabbing her hand they went to bed. After about 3 hours of sleep they heard Jack cry

Turning out of Aaron's arms Emily looked at her clock it read 2:17

"I got him" Aaron said kissing her cheek

"I think he wants your boobs" he said a few minutes later as he entered her bedroom again

Laughing Emily sat up a took out her left boob. Aaron stood by and watched in admiration as she cared for his son.

Laying back Emily placed Jack next to her on the bed after she finished feeding him. Leaning over she kissed him softly telling him she loved him

"I love you too. So much" he said kissing him again followed with 3 short pecks after

A few minutes after Emily fell asleep she felt a weight on her chest. Opening a eye she saw Jack crawling on her and placing his head in the crook of her neck. It was his favourite position to sleep in and he was her favourite thing to sleep on. Emily had to admit sometimes it hurt her breast bone, but she loved this little boy so much  and would do anything for him. She kissed his head and closed her eyes as he twirled and twisted a strand of her hair. That was his favourite thing to play with

"Goodnight baby" Emily whispered rubbing his back

She hoped nothing would ever break the bond she hand with the little boy and his father. She fell in love with his father and she deeply loved the small child. She wanted them to be a family
