Annabeth

Luke was here. After all these years, Annabeth had finally gotten over his death. She had loved him. As a brother, of course. Annabeth had had a tiny crush on Percy ever since they went looking for the Golden Fleece. Emotions she didn't even know she could feel erupted in her chest, when she saw him. She didn't know how to handle them. She fled. She burst out of the doors and ran towards the demigods' dorm, which she somehow where it was. She could sense Percy following her. She finally stopped in front of a painting of the Olympians in their throne room.

"I NEED TO GET IN!" She screamed at the painting, tears flowing freely. The gods dropped everything they were doing and nodded quickly, Apollo looking especially frazzled. The painting swung open, revealing a doorway. Annabeth ducked inside and collapsed immediately on the floor. She heard muffled shouting coming from outside. The door swung open once again and Percy awkwardly bent his head and walked in. He immediately wrapped his arms around Annabeth. Annabeth hugged him tightly, resting her head against his chest, her tears soaking his shirt. He waited until she finished crying, smoothing her blonde curls and twirling them. It was oddly comforting to Annabeth.

Some time later, she stopped. She lifted her head up to see some tears glistening in Percy's glittering green eyes as well. She couldn't believe she had been so insensitive. Thalia and Percy must be hurting as well, but she'd been selfish and only thinking about herself.

"I'm sorry." She breathed to Percy. He lifted her chin and looked deep into her eyes. "What for?" Annabeth had never felt more sure that she didn't deserve Percy. She said so. Percy's eyes hardened. He cupped both her cheeks a little roughly and said forcefully, "Don't you ever say that again. If anything, I don't deserve you. Don't ever say that. I love you."

He then kissed her tenderly, pouring all his love for her into it. Annabeth responded by kissing him more fiercely, trying to put into it what she couldn't put in words. That she loved him more than anything. That she would do anything for him. That he was her only anchor to not giving up. That she would die for him. That she would live for him, and him alone.

They broke apart, their foreheads resting on each other. "I love you too."

Few minutes later, the others barged into the common room. Only Thalia and Jason weren't there. Annabeth had calmed down by now. She and Percy were sitting on one of the big couches spread around the room. Piper saw her and rushed to her side, hugging her fiercely. Hazel joined in as well.

"Are you okay?" Hazel asked. Annabeth nodded. "I'm fine. I'll talk to him. . .later. I'm good." They let go and everyone else went up the stairs to the dorms. Even Percy left, knowing that she needed some space.

Annabeth slowly walked around the room. She wanted to concentrate on something familiar to her, something close to heart. Architecture.

The room was very well-built, with a super high ceiling. One wall was completely covered with bookshelves, filled with magic and mortal books from ceiling to floor, side to side. Several comfy armchairs, sofas, lamps, tables, chairs, even a small cupboard filled with snacks and a roaring fireplace completed the scene.

Annabeth browsed the library next, searching for a relaxing read. She picked out Hogwarts: The Founders and settled down in a large comforting red armchair near the fire. She finished the first few chapters, after which she couldn't concentrate. She set down her book and went up to the girls' dorm.

The room was very big, but warm and cozy. Piper, Hazel and Lou Ellen had already fallen asleep. Thalia still hadn't returned. There were two bathrooms on either side, with makeup tables and full body mirrors right next to them (courtesy of Aphrodite <3). Annabeth could easily find out which was her bed. The quilt was grey and white owl designs on them. The bed frame was lacquered and painted a dark grey. The pillows were white, with extremely thin grey wavy lines running along it.

The wall behind her bed was covered with pictures. Pictures of her and Percy, pictures of her, Percy and Grover on their first quest, pictures of the Argo II, camp, her family, Olympus and her underwater kiss with Percy.

Annabeth immediately relaxed. There weren't any pictures of her and Luke and Thalia, thank the gods. She wasn't ready for that yet. She found a dark grey cupboard right next to her bed. All of her clothes and robes and books were inside. She quickly changed into her pajamas and climbed into bed. Right before she turned off the nightlight, Annabeth noticed the red paper hearts above Piper's bed. Some of them were torn off half-heartedly, littered on the floor. Annabeth chuckled to herself softly. Those hearts were gonna be completely torn off tomorrow. Mercilessly. You do NOT want to be near an angry Piper McLean, early in the morning, without her coffee.
