RAELYNN

It was a busy night, considering it was the weekend. Everyone was trying to rid themselves of the hassle of the week. Whether it was college, work or something else. I stood leaning on the railing overlooking the dance floor.

For the past hour a brunette had my attention. Dressed in a tight dark blue dress, she danced the night away. Her hips swung seductively as her eyes were glued to mine. I knew what she wanted and I was more than willing to give it. Just not yet. I liked when they seemed desperate for me. I gave them just enough to beg for more.

"Already looking at your next victim?" Danny asked, standing next to me.

Turning away from the brunette, I smirked in his direction. "You know me. Always ready for some fun."

He chuckled, taking a sip of his beer. "You're gonna catch something one day."

"I catch something every night." I shrugged. "Hot girl in the blue dress is tonight's lucky winner."

He shook his head in disappointment. At first, Danny was ok with this. He knew I wasn't into relationships. No, there wasn't some deep emotional reason for that. I simply liked fucking, without attachments. None of the women drew me to them, other than physically.

Now, he hated it. He wanted me to find someone and settle down. I had a big problem with that. I didn't want to do the whole feelings thing. Danny and I made a deal. When I finally found 'The One', I was to change my ways. So why not have some fun until 'Ms Right' came along. I didn't know who she was fucking right this moment. Not that I thought she existed.

"You're 27, why not look for someone who can share your life?"

"Uh okay, mom." I mocked.

"I'm telling you, one day you're going to find someone and you'll think differently about relationships." He said with a firm nod.

"Not likely."

I turned my attention to the girl again. She was grinding her ass on another girl. It was hot, making between my legs throb. I decided then and there, I'd have them both tonight.

"Fine, before you go off there's some people you should say 'hello' to." He walked off.

I took that as my cue to follow him.

Business owners and investors that I really didn't need, liked bothering me for business. I owned a fairly popular night club in the city. So according to Danny, I had an obligation to mingle.

After having a drink and some shots with the stuck up assholes, I left. I made my way to the dance floor, confidently striding up to the girls. I snaked my hand around the brunette's waist and drew her in. These girls seemed easy. Too easy that it took the fun out of it. Her friend hooked herself up against my other arm.

"Wanna get out of here?" I said huskily in her ear.

She eagerly nodded.

I led them to the room, I had for my little adventures with the women I picked up.

GRACE

One last paragraph and I was done. My eyes burned from staring at laptop for too long. I lacked food and rest. Yet, I couldn't bring myself to go home. My entire life revolved around my work for the last year. The need for more had dwindled down to nothing.

I turned in my chair, looking out at the view. It was beautiful at night in the city. The lights, the noise, the buidlings. People up and about, living their lives.

Everyone had a story.

A story that makes us who we are. Mine isn't that complicated but it still had the power to break me. Now here I was, 25 and too chicken to go to my own home.

"This just isn't right." A voice from behind me said.

"Go home, Kelly." I said without turning around.

I heard her sigh and then her heels clicked on the floor, indicating she was coming closer. She spun my chair around to face her.

"This is not healthy. You need to stop letting what they did follow you around." She said carefully.

I ran my hand through my red hair. "I...I'm trying."

"Let's start with you taking care of yourself, Grace." She stood up straight. "Go home and take tomorrow off."

"But-"

She put up her hand. "No. Go home and rest. Sleep and recuperate, then come back. That's an order from your boss." She smirked.

I chuckled but agreed. Kelly was what you'd call loyal. Something they weren't.

I said my goodbyes and made my way home. My new home.
