The next morning, the Vk's walk to their first classes together. Mal and Evie walked ahead of the boys lost in their conversation, only breaking it to roll their eyes at the girls begging Jay for his attention. Carlos and Jay walked side by side, Jay smiling at all the girls he passed as Carlos watched. Carlos wished he was as courageous and outgoing as Jay because if he was then maybe he would have already asked Alex out.

"Hi, Jay! Jay! Hi!" Many girls swooned from around the area Jay was in. All he did though was wave to them and continue walking to class.

"Why do you torture them? Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already." Carlos scoffs watching his friend, who had leaned over the nearby railing to talk to a small group of girls.

"I'm going solo. That way, I can dance with all of them." Jay boasts waving goodbye to the girls and jogging to catch up with Carlos.

"Ah! You're the expert," Carlos jests before looking thoughtful, "Um, Jay... if you were gonna ask someone, what's the best way to go?"

"Listen, all you have to do is look like me." Jay laughs pulling Carlos in for a noogie. Carlos laughs sarcastically as he shoves Jay off him. He straightens up his clothes and hair before looking ahead thinking about the brown-haired girl he was so enamored with

"Mal!" Jane yells as she runs towards the girls holding her iPad close.

"Jane! Stop running! I almost ran into Aaron and Chloe back there!" Alex yelled following after the shorter girl. Jane and Alex just came from a cotillion decorating meeting, before Jane left to go find Mal to ask her opinion on something. What Alex hadn't expected was that following Jane would make her have to sprint across the school. Jane ran around a corner, which Alex followed but she almost ran head-on into Aaron and Chloe who were talking about their project for the History of Pirates and Woodsmen class.

"Hey, Jane! Hey Alex!" Carlos greets the pair of girls as they come to a stop. Jane greets him, but Alex is too busy trying to catch her breath to respond making the boy walk over to make sure she is okay.

"I was wondering...uh... if you liked the.... carrot cake last night." Carlos stumbles over his words as the girl stands up with a huff.

"Yeah, it was ok I guess. I mean it's school food so it's nothing like Mr. Hightopp makes." Alex shrugged before smiling as she thought about the dessert Tarrant Hightopp makes during their weekly get-together when he tells Alex all about her father and Wonderland. Janes holds a knowing smile as she watches her friend interact with the boy she has been crushing on for a long time.

"Oh, cool. Um, uh--" Carlos stammers as he rubs the back of his head not knowing what Mr Hightopp's desserts taste like.

"Smooth." Jay teases grabbing a hold of Carlos's shoulder and leading him away from the girls and towards their classes. With a quick wave bye, the boys leave their sight causing the girls to go back to their conversation.

"I have an opening for a fitting at 3:00. Who wants it?" Evie comments pointing towards the girls around her. Alex shakes her head having finished her dress over the weekend with Evie. Jane gets pushed to the side a bit as Lonnie seems to appear.

"Me! Sorry." Lonnie yells before looking sympathetically towards Jane who shrugged turning back to Mal. Evie and Lonnie stepped to the side to talk more about the appointment leaving Mal with Alex and Jane.

"Mal? We hate to keep bugging you, but the decorating committee needs more answers. So, as much as We hate to, um... you know, um..." Jane rambled trying to explain why they ran to find her so quickly now that they had her alone, but Jane couldn't seem to find the right words

"Bug me?" Mal asks with a confused look on her face just wanting to get the cotillion over with at this point. She didn't realize how big of a deal it was going to be until a week or so before the date of the actual event.
