Hours later, after the sun had set, everyone went to bed. The VKs stand around a limo, packing it with everything they might need for the trip. Everyone was in some form of leather outfit that starkly contrasted with what they were used to wearing in Auradon, especially Ben, who had never worn something like this before.

"Jay, keys. Remote" Ben calls as he rushes down the steps, gracefully catching the items that Jay had thrown to him.

"Wait! Something's wrong." Evie comments as Ben steps down the last step. She walks up to him and adjusts his hair to hide under the dark blue beanie he was wearing. "There."

"That's much better," Alex comments, straightening up from organizing the trunk with Carlos.

"Shotgun!" Dude calls from the top of the stairs, and everyone turns to look at him, surprised by his voice.

"No, Dude. Stay. The Isle is way too dangerous." Carlos' orders make Dude groan in disappointment.

"Did he just..." Jay trails off, pointing to the scruffy dog.

"Talk? Yeah. I know. Tell you later." Carlos brushes off the unnatural phenomenon.

"When did that happen?" Alex questions Carlos beside him.

"As I said, I'll tell you later." Carlos tries to deflect, voice wavering in uncertainty.

"That is honestly one of the craziest things I've ever seen, and you weren't gonna tell anyone?" Alex smiles, not trying to press the boy's buttons, just genuinely curious.

"We have more pressing matters to worry about than the talking dog." Carlos scolds before closing the trunk and making his way into the limo, making Alex confused by the sudden hostility.

"Let's go." Evie climbed into the limo last, making sure everyone was ready to go. She talks to Jay through the divider to make sure everyone was on the same page "Okay, once we cross the bridge, park under the pier in the old garage. Got it?"

"Got it." Ben nods, watching in amazement as the magic bridge forms at the push of a button, and they cross the ocean to the Isle.

When they reach the Isle, they pull into an alcove covered by tall metal walls, which practically creates a safety barrier for anyone Auradonian that enters the Isle and the Islanders. Piles of wooden crates and trash covered the walls to the point that something covered in a giant tarp wouldn't raise any suspicion. The group files out of the limo, making sure to grab their supplies, which included a pair of large traps to hide their ride.

"Ben, help me with the tarp," Jay calls to the brunette on the other side of the car. Together, they make sure that the limo is fully covered before backing away and starting their long trek to Mal's hiding spot.

"It's really weird being back here." Evie rubs her arms as if the windless Isle was making her shiver, but really, it was the pure evil that resided inside and radiated through the atmosphere.

"It's like walking through the woods at night, knowing you are being hunted." Alex sighs, looking over her shoulder as they walk through the Isle. She could feel eyes on her, but she could only hope that they didn't hold ill will, and especially hoped the peering eyes didn't belong to anyone related to her mother.

"We'll get in and get out." Jay confirms patting both girls reassuringly on their backs, and gently hip-checking Carlos towards Alex with a pointed gaze that nobody noticed.

"Hey, what's in here?" Ben called back to the group from a large pipe.

"Ben!" Jay calls as the group turns and frantically pulls the King away from it.
