The next day, Evie was digging through her bag looking for something. Alex looked over at Doug. but was given no answers when Doug was just as confused as her. Mr. Deley walks over with Chad by his side. "Looking for something? Thank you, Chad. It's gratifying to see someone that still respects the honor code. It will be my recommendation that you be expelled." Mr. Deley states to Evie and Chad. "Mr. Deley, I..." Evie starts bewildered looking between Doug and Alex.

"But that isn't fair. She wasn't cheating since she didn't have that... whatever it is." Doug claims to defend Evie. "How could she have cheated, if you have it?" Alex questions pointing towards Evie's Magic Mirror in Mr. Deley's hand. "It's called a magic mir-" Evie starts before Doug cuts her off, "You're not helping, stop. Maybe she needed another pencil."

"Or her eraser broke." Alex pipes in. "I was-" Evie starts again this time Alex cuts her off. "Really. Don't help, please." Mr. Deley sighs before looking towards Evie sternly, "Well, If you can pass this test, I'll return your property and let the matter drop."

That afternoon after receiving their tests back, Doug sat at a picnic table studying for another test. Evie silently squeals as she spots him, before rushing over. She leans over him and holds her test up to him showing the B she got for a grade. "For the first time, I'm more than just a pretty face." Evie cheers leaning her head on Doug's. "A shocker, huh?" Doug asks sarcastically.

"You were never just a pretty face!" Alex pipes up from another table, as she sits next to Carlos and Dude attempting to study, but Carlos is distracting her. She glares at the boy, who sends her a wide smile making her heart skip. "You were pretty great in there." Evie complements the boy after rolling her eyes at her lovesick friends. "So were you!" Doug smiles leaning on Evie's arm.

"I bet I can get an A on the next test without the mirror." Evie inquires looking down at Doug. "Yeah! Well, maybe we can get together and we'll hang out" Doug starts to ask Evie on a date but is cut off by Mal grabbing Evie's arm. "There you two are! I have been looking for you both literally everywhere!" Mal exclaims trying to get Alex's attention away from Carlos. Once Mal finally catches the girl's attention, she motions to join her and Evie. "Sorry Carlos, I'm being beckoned," Alex states to Carlos, who pouts. Alex walks over to Mal and Evie with her arms crossed and an annoyed look on her face.

"What's wrong?" Evie asks now that Alex has joined the pair. Doug looked slightly uncomfortable at being ignored and slid down to the other side of the table. "Ben just asked me out on... a date," Mal spoke the word date like it was poison just to say it. Alex and Evie held a bewildered look, Doug just within earshot, and also looked surprised at Mal's revelation. "We can handle this. Bye!" Evie said to Doug before dragging Mal and Alex to their dorm room. "Bye..." Doug trailed off disappointed that another moment with his crush was cut short by someone again. Doug looked over to Carlos as he sighed, both had a mutual understanding about their private moments with girls they like or even love being cut short.

Classes were out for the day, Mal, Alex, and Evie were in their dorm. Evie was putting some makeup on Mal after dressing her up for her date, and Alex was typing and untyping her first text to her dad. "You're looking a little pale," Evie commented walking over to Mal with a blush brush. "Yeah, of course," Mal confirms. Mal had no clue what the makeup terms meant, she just trusted Evie knew best. "I can fix that with some gloss and blush." Evie cheered confident in her skill for makeup.

Evie stood in front of the girl as she used the brush to apply makeup to Mal's face, glancing at Alex every so often noticing that her friend was struggling with something. "Okay. Easy on the blush. I don't want to scare him away. Not that I could." Mal scolded as Evie applied a light pink brush to her cheeks and nose. "Please. My mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk. Always use upward strokes." Evie rolled her eyes jokingly continuing to apply blush on Mal's cheeks. "My mom was never really big on makeup tips. I never had a sister." Mal sighed looking over at Evie, who gave her a sad smile of understanding.

"Well, now you have 2. We're going to need all the family we can get If we don't pull this off. My mother's not a barrel of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White." Evie started to tease before trailing off as she talked about her mom. "My mom had tried to kill me on many occasions and has killed other people before. When people do as she says then they don't come back." Alex chimed in.

Mal looks between Alex and Evie with a thoughtful look. "Are you afraid of her?" She asked both girls. "Are you kidding me? Obviously! That's why I'm not doing your stupid plan." Alex exclaimed tossing her phone onto the bed she was sitting on. "Sometimes. Are you afraid of your mom?" Evie states before asking Mal the same question. "I just really want her to be proud of me. She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her. And sh... yeah, she's my mom, so I know she loves me... In her own way." Mal sighs unconfident.

"Moving on. Come see!" Evie exclaims pulling Mal over to the mirror in the room. "Are we done?" Mal asks glancing at herself in the mirror. "Yeah," Evie confirms running her hands along Mal's shoulder in comfort. "Oh." Mal trails off as she stares into the mirror. "I know," Evie smirks looking at her handiwork of her friend. "I look..." Mal trails off again trying to find the right words to say. "Say it," Evie smirks shaking Mal's shoulder a bit. "Not hideous." Mal smiles proudly. "Not even close," Evie confirms. "You look nice." Alex compliments after she glances up at her friend.

A knock comes from the door causing everyone to look over at it. Evie squeals slightly as she rushes to open the door with Mal behind her. "For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful. I hope you like bikes." Ben smiles at Mal stunned by her looks. Evie pushes Mal outside and towards her date. Like a flash, she turns to Alex, who stares at her intimated by her glaze. "Now you!" Evie cheers pointing at Alex as she holds a confused look. "I'm sorry, what? I don't have a problem." Alex questions looking at Evie.

"Yes, you do! Ever since you sat down on that bed you have been typing on your phone or staring at it longingly like it's a photo of Carlos." Evie scolds walking towards Alex. Alex turns red knowing that Evie knows about her crush on Carlos "Fine. I've been trying to type out something for my dad for the past week after I met  Mr. Hightopp. I just don't know what to say! I haven't seen him since I was a baby." Alex admits looking away from Evie. "I got you girl. I'll help you!" Evie exclaims sitting on the bed next to Alex as she reads what she has so far. "It's a good start!" Evie confirms before taking the phone and typing something out and hitting send smiling as Alex looks at her wide eyes.

"What did you send?!" Alex yells in terror. "Chill girl it's not like I just texted Carlos that you like him." Evie smirks but it drops as she notices someone standing in the doorway mouth hanging open.
