Her Story

Chapter 15

Levi looks at me confused but I just shake my head and gives him a small smile. He smiles back and I turn around sensing someone there. He was super tall and pale. "You must be Slender." I say crossing my arms. "Indeed I am. You are JD, A friend of my pastas." He says and I nod my head glancing at Levi. He holds a finger to his lips and I understand.  "Yep, Thanks for taking care of my little brother till I could join him again." I smile softly. "I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to him." I ruffle Levi's hair and he swats at my hand. I chuckle as he pouts. "He wasn't to much of a problem. Mostly stayed in his room quietly barely talking to any one when he did leave." Slender says. "Yeah, away from me he is really quiet. Makes him less of a target for people. They mostly come after me since I am more loud and out there." I shrug. Everyone stops and stares at us as Levi hugs my side silently knowing exactly what I meant. "Can you explain?" Jeff asks. I look at him and nods. "Sure, I have no problem explaining. When we first started school Levi was in Kindergarten and I was in first grade. Everyone at school only knew us as the kids born in Survivor Cove. They knew every adult in Survivor Cove and their back story that lead them to living there but our last name wasn't one they knew so they asked me what our mother's maiden name was. But I couldn't tell them because I didn't know. Our mother kept secrets from us about everything. Our father had died when we were young too so we only had our mother. The other kids were not happy with my answer and that's when the bullying started. Every time we turned around all through out our elementary years kids were throwing things at us, rocks, sticks, paper balls, wood chips. But once we hit Middle school it got worse. One kid pulled a knife on Levi and lunged at Levi. I jumped in taking the knife to my fore arm. I beat the kid with an inch of his life, that made me the main target after that. Levi stuck to my side like glue so the kids had to attack me and when Levi did leave my side the other kids didn't care about him anymore. I got everything thrown at me, books, even bigger rocks, pencils, water bottles, even scissors at one time. My mother pulled me and Levi out of school for at the time I thought was for our protection but now I know it was for the other kids. She had a family before me, Levi and our father that she never talked about but told us they all died. I was suspicious because she never told us so I started searching into who she could be. But everything I did know about her didn't bring anything to light. So I got a family friend from my dad's side to help and we found a lot but nothing about her family before us." I say. Levi hides his face and I look at him.
