Her Story

Chapter 1

I sit in my room working on a project. I lean back and looks out the window. The sky is dark with the setting sun. Levi is curled up on my bed passed out. He is to scared to sleep in his own room anymore since dad passed. Mom has been treating me strangely since then too. She made sure I worked hard in school, I never rode the bus, never hung out with friends, and made sure Levi was never near me outside of the house. I look over at him  and smiles softly as his dark brown hair is spread out around his head like a dark halo. I hear the front door slam open and close again. I sigh and roll my eyes. "She's home. She is so worried about that murderer that has been roaming around yet she comes home this late." I mutter softly and shakes my head going back to the project on my desk in front of me. Ah right, you don't know who I am. Well, my name is Jasper Doxane but I prefer everyone call me JD.  I live with my mom and younger brother Levi. We have been inseparable since he was born. Levi is two years younger than me but we go to the same school. After a while I finish the last bit and sits back in my chair stretching. I look at the clock. "Midnight already huh? I guess I don't get sleep tonight. Oh well, I can use this time to work on other things." I hum. "Don't over work yourself JD, It's not good for your health." A sleepy Levi says. "Oh, Did I wake you up? I'm sorry." I look at him apologetically. "No, I had another dream. " He says looking at me. My eyes widen and I turn to face him. "What was it about this time?" I ask. "Us finally getting away from mom but then you trip and tell me to keep running and never look back. You'll find me eventually." Levi says starting to tear up. "Hey, don't cry. You know that even if that doesn't happen I would still want you to be safe. Your safety is all I care about and put above my own. You are my brother, no matter what." I smile and wipe his tears away with my thumbs. He smiles back and lays back down staring at me with his green eyes shining in the little light my computer screen gives off. "Come to bed please sis? You need the rest."He says giving me puppy dog eyes. I sigh. "I can't say no to those eyes you know that." I grumble playfully as he smiles in victory scooting over to give me room on the bed. I close my computer sending the room into darkness and I climb into bed. Levi smiles at me and slowly closes his eyes letting sleep take hold. I lay there for a little staring at his sleeping face before I fall asleep as well.
