Chapter 32

His smile seems to widen and I hold out my hand. "Yes! That's how you do it. Now just do that a few more times."  Jeff says practically leaping to his feet. I laugh and nods my head slightly. " JD, don't be afraid to hurt me. I can take it, now. Let's try it again. But make sure to change it up. Don't use the same tactic twice. Everyone will anticipate that and use it to plan their attacks." He says. I nod and prepare myself. Jeff launches at me and I dodge out of the way of his blade.  I keep a fair distance away from him trying to think of a plan. "Don't just stand there JD! Remember what happened last time you stood around?!" Jeff taunts. I narrow my eyes angrily and leaps at him. I swing my leg trying to kick him in the gut. He moves out of the way but I cock back my fist and nails him on the top of his head. He grunts and pierces me in the hip. I suck in a sharp breathe between my teeth. I kick him away and my kick forces him to let go of the knife, leaving it in my hip. I go to remove it but I shake my head focusing on Jeff. "Can't stab me if your knife is already in me." I taunt. Jeff snorts slightly. "Are you going to remove it?" He asks and I shake my head. "No, I'll deal with it later." I say and leaps at him again clocking him in the face. We continue the fight exchanging blows and I round house kick him into the wall. He spits up blood and slumps to the ground. My eyes widen and I hobble towards Jeff in a hurry. "Jeff, are you alright?" I ask kneeling next to him. Jeff lays on the ground face down and I roll him onto his back. His eyes are cloudy and I shake him. "Jeff, come on. This isn't funny." I say. Jeff is just limp and I lay my head on his chest and listens for his heart beat. But there isn't one. "JEFF!!" I yelp and uses the shadows inside his body to restart his heart. "Come on. Come on." I bite my lip. He doesn't seem to respond. "SLENDER!!! EJ!!!" I scream my heart pounding loudly in my ears. I continue to use the shadows trying to get him to respond. I hear Slender's voice in my head. 'We can't get to you right now. People are attacking the mansion again and are about to break in. Take Jeff and get somewhere safe.' he says and I swallow nervously. I lift Jeff into my arms and shadow walks deep into the trees behind the mansion. I run quickly through the trees Jeff hanging limp in my arms. I stumble across an abandoned cottage and I rush inside shrouding the place in a shadow bubble but light can still get in but no one outside the bubble can see the cottage.  I set Jeff on the couch and suddenly I can hear his heart beat start up again. I sigh with relief and goes to the kitchen. "Any food?" I mutter quietly. I search though the cupboards and fridge. "Nope, nothing. Hopefully we don't have to stay here to long." I whisper walking back over to Jeff and siting by his head.
