In a TV station in Applewood, the camera went on as Sky Stinger said "Welcome back to Sky Picks with Sky Stinger. I'm your host, former and forever Equestrian Cup champion, Sky Stinger." He made a noise, and said "This just in, rookie King Sombra slams the proverbial door on Rainbow Blitz. Oh I couldn't have enjoyed it more if I'd beaten Blitz myself. Oh, wait! I have!" He chuckled as the other ponies just stared at him funny as he said "But, enough about me. Here to tell you how it happened is professional number cruncher miss Spoiled Rich." Then, an earth pony named Spoiled Rich appeared on camera as she said "It's a pleasure to be here, Sky Stinger, and actually, I prefer the term, statistical analyst." "Right." Sky Stinger said. "So, who is this mysterious newcomer, King Sombra, and why is his race carriage so darn fast?" "It's no mystery if you study the data, Mr. Stinger." Spoiled Rich said. The race then got started as Rainbow Blitz was able to zoom past King Sombra, but then he zoomed ahead of him as he gasped in shock. In the TV station in Applewood, Spoiled Rich showed the next generation pony races on the screen behind her and Sky Stinger as she said "One reason Sombra, and the next gens are more efficient, their ability to hold the optimum racing line every single lap. The next day, Rainbow Blitz was practicing in the canyon racing track, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't be any faster than King Sombra's racing carriage.
