It had been about a month since the Weasley clan moved in when we got word that Harry had been expelled.
I volunteered to be part of the group going off to pick him up, but of course Moody said no.
Grumpy old git.
So, I made my peace by starting mischief in the house instead. We had just ended the first, short meeting of the day and The Advance Guard left the house to go pick up Harry. I quickly ran upstairs, gathering everyone in Ginny and Hermione's room.
"Okay, they all left for Privet Drive now so Harry will be here tonight. There's also going to be a meeting tonight. You could try the ears, but I think your mother learned from last time she caught you. Said something about enchanting the room."
"Ugh, but then how are we supposed to hear anything?" George whined.
"I'm going to try to be the last person to enter the room, so I'll stay by the door. After they've put up the silencing spell, I'll crack the door just the slightest bit. That will break the spell and you can hear everything." "And if you don't manage that?" Ron questioned.
"Then you'll just have to suffer in the dark for a little longer," I retorted, giving him a smirk.
I stayed in Hermione and Ginny's room after lunchtime, Ginny and I picking out which colour Starburst we preferred. She had never had them before this summer, but quickly realised her favourite was the yellow ones, I preferred the pink ones, so we split them like that, sharing the other colours half and half.
Hermione was sitting on her bed reading a schoolbook, either for homework or for fun. I couldn't really tell with her anymore. I threw a green sweet at her head and it bounced off, landing on her book. She picked it up, unwrapped it and put it in her mouth without muttering a word.
I turned back to look at Ginny with glee. I was just about to test what else I could chuck at her to see if she would just accept that blindly as well, when Bill Weasley knocked on the open door.
"Hey. Sirius told me to get you. Dumbledore's just gotten here," he said to me, sending an apologetic smile to his sister.
A loud crack sounded behind Bill.
"Right. Tell him we'll be right down," Fred said with a smile on his face. I got off Ginny's bed chuckling. "Sorry children, you're just going to have to wait," I said, patting George's arm as I passed them.
Bill closed the door after me and followed me downstairs. Ron and the others were going to open the door in a second again anyway, to see if they could recognize any of the witches or wizards that came into the entryway.
As we winded around the staircase, I saw Fred and George head back upstairs to their room, ready to eavesdrop on this next Order meeting. Although, with Molly's great Ear-purge, I was surprised she hadn't found all of them yet.
We headed down to the kitchen instead of the dining room. I was surprised at how many people were there. A few faces I recognized, and then a lot of faces I didn't recognize. I silently went to stand, leaning on the wall next to the door when I saw that a few faces were still missing.
"I'm afraid that the transport team from Privet Drive aren't back yet, but no matter. We'll catch them up later. Now, if everyone could take a seat," Dumbledore looked at me knowingly.
Seeing as the room wasn't completely full yet, it looked foolish to stand now. I took my seat beside Sirius, an empty seat on my other side as Mrs Weasley came in last, closing the door and placing charms around the room so none of her children could eavesdrop on the super-secret conversations.
