Before school ended, we had made so many plans with our friends to make this the best summer ever. That was before Voldemort revealed himself that night at the Ministry and the world turned darker.

We tried to act as normal as possible, of course.

The twins and I went to Lucy's house on her birthday, along with the others from our friend group. We met her parents, who I instantly loved. It turned out, Lucy's music taste came from her mother and her sense of humour and thirst for pranks came from her father.

They were both Muggles but loved having all these weird wizard-teens in their house. We showed them a lot of simple spells, which they both enjoyed.

And then her father, Adam, showed us a few Muggle 'magic' tricks with a deck of cards he had learned over the years. Alicia loved it, and the twins were inspired to get some Muggle magic tricks to sell in the shop.

We managed to get all the girls together for a trip to the beach, ending with a sleepover at my apartment. People were littered over the whole sofa when we fell asleep watching movies and eating junk food.

Angelina had screamed when I turned the TV on, but after we explained to the others what a Television was, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as we watched.

However, when everyone decided to stay another night, Angelina, Amelia and Alicia did not enjoy it when Lucy put on Jurassic Park.

After an hour of trying to explain how it worked I was more confused than when I had started. I didn't quite understand it myself, but Ted had informed me years ago that nothing on the Television was real. Most of the time.

It's all very confusing.

Beach trips, parties, adventures and fun with our friends had been amazing distractions from our real lives.

So was Grimmauld Place. The clean-up and renovation were coming along perfectly.

I had been shopping with Sirius all day, picking out new furniture and dropping off some more plants for him to adopt from me. I had brought my kitten along with me yesterday and Sirius had kidnapped her since, not letting me bring her back with me.

Snuffles and Freckles had become quite the dynamic duo. Who would've thought the cat and dog would be such good friends?

We had been working hard all summer, even if Dumbledore had given me these months off Order duty, there was still a lot to be done. The joke shop was up and running, and the twins had to hire extra help because the three of us couldn't handle all the customers on our own.

Lee started working in the shop part-time, spending the rest of his time working for the Radio Station he had started with as soon as school had ended.

"Morning Mister Magpie," I tipped my hat at the Magpie who had landed on the lamppost next to my building. Fred chuckled at me and wrapped his arms around me tighter.

"You know it's not morning, right?" he teased, resting his chin on my shoulder from behind.

I rolled my eyes and turned to give him a look. "Doesn't matter what hour of the day it is, Sweet Pea. You always greet a lone Magpie, or you'll die a gruesome, horrible death. Do you want to die a gruesome, horrible death?" I inquired, raising a brow at him.

He shook his head fervently and turned to the bird. "Ey, yo Magpie! How's it goin'?" He called loudly to the bird making me burst out laughing. In my laughter I moved too much to the side and started to slip down, letting out a small yelp.

Fred's grip around me tightened once again and he pulled me up so my back rested against his chest once more.

"This was a stupid idea," he muttered. I smacked his arm and giggled. "Oh, shut up, it's romantic." "Yeah, plummeting to your death. Real romantic," he snarked back, sarcasm lacing his words.
