As we finished up lunch and went to our designated areas I was on my way into Ginny's room when someone grabbed me around the waist, lifting me away.
I was about to let out a yelp, but a hand covered my mouth, stifling all noise. I was turned towards the next set of stairs, then sat down again.
I looked over my shoulder and came face to face with Fred. I raised a brow at him in question. "Move," was all he said, pointing up the stairs. I followed his demand, climbing the stairs.
I headed up the next two floors, wondering what he was being so grumpy about. We reached our floor, and he grabbed my wrist, opening the door to his and George's room.
But his brother was already in there, probably having Apparated upstairs after lunch. "Out," Fred said, jamming his thumb over his shoulder. George looked up in surprise and spotted me. He looked from Fred to me and back again, a smirk spreading over his face.
"Oh, I see how it is." He grinned wickedly, making Fred groan and roll his eyes. "Cut the shit, George. Just – go be somewhere else." George disappeared in a crack, leaving us alone in the room.
"So," I started, looking around the room. "Any specific reason why you wanted me alone in your room, Weasley?" I asked, insinuatingly, while wiggling my eyebrows at him.
He turned around quickly looking at me with his mouth slightly open. "I wasn't – I mean – that's not..." He trailed off, not being able to get a sentence out.
"Teasing you Fred, relax," I went and sat down on his bed. He sighed, joining me. "What's up?" I asked.
He mumbled to himself and turned towards me, giving me a more serious look than I was expecting. "Allie, I'm not going to ask you if you're alright because I assume that's what everyone's been asking you already. So instead I'm gonna ask, how was your day today?" he looked back and forth between my eyes, looking for the truth, his tone carrying a more serious tone than usual.
I rolled my eyes playfully, "I'm fine Weasley, everybody needs to chill." I reached out my hand to shove his chest playfully, but he caught my hand, pulling me up straight again, looking me right in the eye.
"Allison, come on. Talk to me. Say what you're thinking after today. I mean they sprung Hogwarts on you, and then the Boggart incident. What's going through your head right now?"
He never called me Allison. None of them did. I looked down at my hand, which he was still holding. I rubbed my thumb up along his much bigger one. He caught it under his own one and started stroking it up and down comfortingly.
"Still a bit shaken. Shocked. I don't think it's gone up for me just yet that I'm actually going back to Hogwarts. Tired and in need of a nap." I looked back up at him, meeting his eyes.
"And also, I can't believe I'm going back to Hogwarts in a few weeks. It's insane!" I shook my head. "I never thought I'd go back there."
"Why did you leave to begin with?" I smiled at that. "I kissed a boy," I laughed. Fred did not laugh, however. "What? What does that mean?"
I just laughed at his facial expression, lying down on his pillows scooting to the right side of the bed, patting the left side beside me.
His eyebrows shot up, but he silently moved, lying down, facing me.
"In my fourth year I kissed a Muggle-born in my year. Apparently, my parents had friends at the school because they heard about it from someone. So, my father decided I wasn't allowed to return to Hogwarts after the summer, because I was bringing shame upon the family name. I went down one evening and I overheard them talking about transferring me to Beauxbatons Academy and I left."
