Classification: Free Verse

Context / Prompt: I wrote this like years ago when I was suffering from depression and anxiety. So this sort of give insight to how I felt.

She rises from her bitter bed
With thought is sadness in her head
She idolizes being dead
Facing the day with eternal dread

She writes songs of pain as she weeps
But she has a promise to keep
Until then she shall not sleep
Tears fall, cascading down her cheeks

She screams and cries when she thinks
No one is around or listening
Wishing, wanting, dare I say praying
For the day to come when she stops hurting

And that girl, this girl,
Who wishes she were gone
Is too afraid to ask for help alone
Is getting tired of feeling alone
