CHAPTER 11: Erza's Turn

•JELLAL'S P.O.V.•
Poor Natsu. We all know how he feels about Lucy except her, she's so dense. That little "incident" probably didn't help. I chuckled while watching him sulk in the corner farthest away from Lucy. It was such a beautiful day today. I could feel the suns hot rays beating down on my bare back. The low humming of the engine serving as a background noise with waves lapping the sides of the boat. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder and turned to see Erza smiling at me.
"Can I have a go?" She asked me. I hesitated. Oh god, this could turn disastrous in an instant. I turned to the others for help. They all looked terrified of what I might say. If I say yes, it would surely be one hell of a ride, and a terrifying one at that. If I say no, god knows what she would do to me. I gulped and wiped the sweat off my palms.
"Hehe... sure!" I said in a squeaky voice with a measly smile planted on my face. She smiled from ear to ear with a look of horror on her face while saying, "my turn..." I quickly stood up and showed her what to do and how to drive it.
"I know, I know," she said. Her foot collided with the gas pedal and the poor motor boat lurched forward.
"Whaaaaa!!" Everyone screamed. I grabbed onto the nearest thing I could to stay one the boat and turn back to everyone else, "Sorry minna!!" I yelled over the roaring engine. Man this seat sure feels softer than when I was sitting on it. Squishy...
"Jellal... Jellal, mind moving your hands to something else to hold for dear life with?" Erza asked calmly, not even looking back. I whipped my head forward in horror and embarrassment to realize... that wasn't a chair. My face turned as red as Erza's hair and I quickly threw my hands up in the air.
"Hehe... s-sorry Er- WHAAA!" I screamed as I lost my balance. I went flying back and fell off the boat. As I was flying through the air, I realized the only way to stay with the group was to grab onto the tube. Oh god. I reached out for the handle and grabbed on for dear life.
"NYAAAAAAA!" I screamed. All the while I had been flying through the air I hadn't realized the thick liquid spraying out of my nose. Shit, not again! I thought as I closed my eyes and let out another scream. My body was flailing around like a hopeless rag doll. I looked at the boat to see Natsu pointing and laughing at me while his other hand clutched his stomach. Gray was trying desperately to hold in his laugh too but it was obvious that wasn't working. I glared at them and that's when the boat stopped. I sighed in relief and saw Erza standing up, a dark aura forming around her. She turned around and said something to Natsu and Gray, but I couldn't hear her. Her bangs covered her face and she grabbed both of them by the neck. They started flailing around as she threw them into the icy lake water. I started to laugh as I watched them desperately swimming for the boat, but then I heard the engine roar to life again. Oh shit not again, I whined inside. The boat shot off leaving Natsu and Gray behind. As I flew past them I pointed and laughed. They look at me and both wiped their noses. A confused look found it's way to my face as there was nothing under their noses. Then I realized. I look like an idiot and I completely forgot about my...nose bleed. I quickly reached up and wiped the red liquid off of my face. Once I finished cleaning myself my hand instinctively flew back to the handle to hold on for dear life. Erza's kinda cute when shes mad, I thought, a smirk slowly forming on my face. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Part of me wants this horror ride to end, but another part of me knows I will get teased. Oh well, I have Erza to protect me.
