Cardinal Rose
Cardinal Rose, my rusty heart was done
Until your healing touch revived his beat
For years I thought my inner song was gone
Before I found a soul rubescent sweet
You lay your hand on mine and we escape
Into a world of opalescent hues
A universe in which we run agape
Where fire and ice can mingle if they choose
My silence thunders once again aloud
Your ruby petals mend my broken tones
And when your smile applauds me in the crowd
Vermillion flames erupt inside my bones
