Lyrics:
MOTHER
Do you think they'll drop the bomb?
MOTHER
Do you think they'll like this song?
MOTHER
Do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Ooh, ah
MOTHER
Should I build the wall?
MOTHER
Should I run for President?
MOTHER
Should I trust the government?
MOTHER
Will they put me in the firing mine?
Ooh ah,
Is it just a waste of time?
Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all your nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here under he wing
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing
Mama's gonna keep baby cozy and warm
Ooh baby, ooh baby, ooh baby
Of course mama's gonna help build the wall
MOTHER
Do you think she's good enough?
For me?
MOTHER
Do you think she's dangerous
MOTHER
Will she tear your little boy apart?
Ooh ah,
MOTHER
Will she break my heart?
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up until you get in
Mama will always find out where you've been
Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooh baby, ooh baby, ooh baby
You'll always be baby to me
MOTHER
Did it need to be so high?
**********
The next morning I woke up with a major headache, but I wasn't in my bed. I was on a couch still in my clothes from last night, and Myles was sprawled out on the floor. It took me a minute and my head to stop spinning, to realize that I knew exactly where I was.
I was in Dex's apartment, I haven't been here for years, but it still looks the same. The couch that I'm on, I helped him pick it out with his new found money from fame. It was cool to the touch and like heaven to lay on. If I remember correctly, we christen the couch after it was first installed.
Oh shit! I think I might throw up with that trip down memory lane. I got up from the couch full of memories, and went over to the fridge to find a bottle of water. When I found an unopened bottle of water, I guzzled it down like it was the first I have ever tried the wonderful liquid.
As water began to course through my veins, I began to remember how exactly I ended up on Dex's couch. After the CD release party, Dex, Myles, and I decided to go out for more drinks. I think Dex didn't want to leave me alone with Myles, so that's why he stuck around. Even though, Myles and I were like two teenagers who just heard of the phrase "hooking up."
I'm not even sure what time it was, but all three of us stumbled our way to Dex's apartment. Coming back to me like every morning after, I remember walking in and seeing that couch. I said something along the lines of, "I love this couch," then plopped down on it.
"Good morning." Myles said to me as I walked back into the living room.
"For who?" I asked him, hearing the rasp in my voice.
"For the people who didn't drink as much as we did last night." Myles said as he sat next to me on the couch.
