i spent the next few days doing exactly that. sitting in my room, avoiding everyone, and crying. seeing as rebekah was the only one i'd invited in, she was the only one that visited me. she kept me updated on the going ons of mystic falls, and i was grateful for her.
as of lately, the gang was working on trying to find a way to kill the originals. i didn't like that plan one bit, so i had zero interest in picking up any of their calls to help them. rebekah would often come by with books, and we'd try to find out where the new white oak wood had gone too. that stuff was just as dangerous to me as it was to them, and i didn't want it to be found.
our answer was revealed when a red haired vampire named sage came by my door one evening, claiming she knew where the wood was. damon had tried to trick her, and she realised she was being double crossed.
"us girls really have to stick together, don't we?" rebekah asked as we all went into my car, speeding towards wickery bridge. "boys try to hurt us, but we're better than them." i let a tiny smile appear on my face at that, and sage laughed.
arriving at the bridge, we made quick work of stripping the wood from it, making a pile.
"phesmatos incendia!" i lit the whole pile on fire, and it felt as if a weight was lifted off my chest as we watched it burn. a loud screech cut through the silence, and i slowly looked up to see damon standing there in utter disbelief.
"brit, why would you help them?" he asked in disgust.
"this wood is just as dangerous to me as it is to them, damon. i'm an original too, do you not remember? you may have no intention of killing me, but you want to kill my friends. and i can't let that happen. let's go, beks." i walked back towards my car, not sparing damon another glance as rebekah followed me.
"oh, and!" i looked back one last time. "these past days, you and everyone else have only called me because you needed my help, not to check in on me. rebekah was here for me when you weren't, so i'm naturally more inclined to help her. have a good night." and with that, we were headed back to my house.
the next morning, i awoke to an empty house, and a note from rebekah on the counter.
B,
Please don't be too upset when you come to the mansion after you see this. I'm just angry and I have to do this. Come here as soon as you can.
- Ri read it apprehensively, and started to get ready. after drinking a blood bag, i was on my way to the mansion.
"brit! klaus greeted when he opened the door for me. "never knock again, you're practically family." i smiled at that.
"where's beks? and why does it smell like you painted your walls with blood?" i wrinkled my nose as we walked into the main room. both of my questions were answered as i saw rebekah standing next to a chained up damon, who was bleeding heavily.
"jesus christ beks, what are you doing?" i yelled, speeding to damon.
"i'm keeping him out of vervain so i can compel him. mess around with his mind the way he tried to do to mine." she answered simply, and i sighed.
"beks, chaining him up though? was all this necessary? at least get manacles, not bloody bear traps. step back." i commanded, and she grudgingly did.
i silently cast spells with my mind as i moved the bear traps that were chained to the ceiling to make them be on the floor, so damon was now sitting. with another spell, i transfigured them into heavy manacles.
"no more bear claws, and i'll turn a blind eye to the bleeding out." i negotiated, and she agreed as there was a knock on the door.
"bonnie?" i questioned the witch incredulously as she walked in with klaus. "what are you doing here?"
"i could ask you the same." she sounded frightened, and i immediately stared at klaus.
"do anything to hurt her, and i'll not hesitate to find a way to dagger you." i kept my stare level as he just smiled bemusedly.
"i'll not physically harm your witch in any way, don't worry brit. i just want her to break the linking spell between me and my siblings." he told me, and i nodded warily.
"i don't know if i can do that klaus, i've told you! i need-" bonnie tried to say.
"blood from each of my siblings, and the original spell? i have both, plus a little, what should i call it, motivation to complete the spell!" he took out his phone, dialing a number. as i started to walk away, back to damon.
"what?" a disgruntled voice answered, and i stopped in my tracks, turning back around.
"ah, kol! how is it up in denver? keeping watch of our friend jeremy?" klaus asked jovially, and me and bonnie watched as kol moved his phone camera to show jeremy, playing with a dog at the park.
"he thinks we're friends, it's rather annoying." kol replied, and i held bonnie's hand comfortingly.
"perfect! well, continue what you're doing, i hope you're having a lovely time away from this godforsaken town." klaus' voice turned a little poisonous at the end, and i heard kol sigh.
"nik, you know i-"
"goodbye brother." klaus hung up the phone, and stared at me and bonnie. "so, shall we get going?"
an hour or so later, stefan had showed up to try and barter damon's freedom. he revealed there was 8 white oak stakes that still existed, but when rebekah compelled damon, he said 11. stefan had one on him, and said he'd go get the other two.
"beks, i think it's time you let damon go." i told her gently, and silently, she went over, unchaining him. "i'll take him back to his house while stefan goes to get the other stakes, okay?" i hugged her and klaus bye, and held damon's arm over my shoulder, slowly walking the two of us out.
"so, which one are you sleeping with?" damon joked tiredly, and i laughed sarcastically.
"none of them, damon. nik, beks, and eli are my close friends. i cant say the same for finn, seeing as he wants them all dead."
"and kol?" i was hoping damon wouldn't notice that i didn't say kol's name through his pain, but he did.
"it's complicated. he hates me." i stated shortly.
"but you like him." damon sang out, and with a sigh, i snapped his neck. i sped into an alleyway, and disapparated, and landed in the salvatore living room. after dumping him on one of the couches, i left, going to my house for the night.
