Slowly stretching out on the bed, I rolled to my side and slowly opened my eyes. The sunlight was already flooding the room, and Jeremy was still asleep next to me. Looking over to the clock on the wall, I saw that it was already after nine.
Carefully moving out of bed, I went into the kitchen and started to heat the water for tea. Filling my diffuser with green tea leaves, I placed it in my cup by the stove. Turning to the coffee pot, I started to brew a pot for Jeremy for when he woke up. When my water was hot, I filled my cup and cut a wedge of lemon for it before sitting on the couch.
I enjoyed the quiet of the house on mornings like this. The silence was welcoming, and comforting. I took my time sipping my tea before getting back up. After washing my cup, I quietly walked back into the bedroom where Jeremy was still sleeping. Grabbing my robe off of the closet door I went into the bathroom and started the shower. I let the water warm as I brushed out my hair and took off all of my clothes.
The water felt so good as it warmed me. I took my time as I shaved and exfoliated. It's not often I take the time to just relax in the shower. Finally rinsing, I shut off the water and stepped out as I wrapped a towel around my body. I quietly opened the door and saw that Jeremy was awake. He was still in bed, and laying on his back as his head turned to look at me as I stepped out.
"Hey." He said softly as he reached his arm out for me. Walking over to him, I sat on the side of the bed as he put his hand on my thigh. "When are you leaving?"
"Soon. I'm supposed to be there by noon, but I figured I would get ready and just head over." I said as he let his hand roam my thigh.
Ne nodded, and stayed quiet for a minute as he ran his thumb back and forth, "I'm sorry Harper. I really am." He said as he looked up at me.
I gently squeezed his hand on my leg as I gave him a small nod, "Prove it to me." I said softly as I stood up and walked into the closet.
I half expected him to follow me, but as I looked for what to wear, he never came into the closet. Wanting to be comfortable, I pulled on a pair of jeans, and a striped button up shirt. I tied up the bottom of the shirt at my waist since it was too big, and put on a pair of flip flops.
Quickly going back into the bathroom, I dried my hair and put a quick swipe of mascara on my lashes before getting my purse and putting everything I needed inside. As I stood at the counter texting Sam that I was on my way, I felt Jeremy's hands on my waist as he wrapped his arms around me.
"Have fun today." He whispered as kissed my shoulder and my neck.
"I will. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone, but I'll text you through the day." I said as I put my hand on his arm and kissed his cheek.
Picking up my phone off of the counter, I walked out to my car and headed to Sam's house. I didn't play music as I drove, I just enjoyed the quiet. As I pulled into her driveway, Mason turned onto her street and parked by the curb behind me. Sliding out of my seat, I closed my door and walked down to Mason's car as he got out.
