The halls of Olympus were silent but at this point, she was used to that. Koa was used to being alone at Olympus, in the empty halls, and around the gardens that could be bursting with life, although Koa didn't care. It wasn't uncommon to find no one around the long halls of the Olympian castle, especially when her parents were fighting again. The constant bickering between Zeus and Hera seemed to bring fewer and fewer visitors to the castle, leaving Koa her own free time to spend as she saw fit. As of now, she was spending a lot of time at the library. With a book tucked under her arm, she stalked the halls, brushing her red hair over her shoulder as she paused in front of her bedroom door. A flicker of movement in the corner of her right eye and she frowned, almost confused before she remembered the earlier events of the day. She picked up the light fabric in her free hand and sprinted after the figure, sandaled feet pounding against the stone floor.
Once she had caught up to Wren, the only other person she got along within this castle, she held out a pale hand to stop him, her piercing green eyes staring at his own brown ones as though she could see straight into his soul. "You swear you've gotten everyone here?" She asked quickly, her voice dropping down to a whisper for worry of being overheard. Wren chuckled and shot her the charismatic smirk that he had inherited from Apollo. He shook the brown hair out of his face and removed Koa's hand from his arm, gesturing them forward but looking unsurprised when Koa didn't move.
"And in true Koa fashion, there is no hello or anything. It's nice to see you too," Wren replied, waving his hand around pointlessly as though it would prove his argument. Koa resisted the urge to get frustrated at his typical antics and gestured for him to get to the point. "Okay, I get it. Chill, Koa. Yeah, I've got them. They're all in the garden, all but Luna and Zale who will be joining us as soon as they can. And everyone was pretty busy so your message had better be worth it.
"Oh, I would say it's definitely worth it." Koa turned on her heels and started down the hallway towards the garden, forcing Wren to run a few steps to catch up with her.
"Are you going to tell me what this whole thing is about?" He asked, lifting an eyebrow playfully. Koa sent him a glare, unsure why he felt the need to ask such a thing when he already knew the answer. Wren chuckled again, holding his hands up in surrender and shrugging. "I thought I'd try. You aren't one to call meetings like this and this did happen out of nowhere. You're convinced we need this."
"Definitely not here. It's not safe enough. But when we reach the gardens, I'll inform everyone," Koa said. She pushed past him and rounded the corner, pushing open the doors to the Olympus garden as she moved. Birds chirped softly through the olive trees and flowers grew wildly throughout the grassy ground. The worn, dirt path branched out in multiple paths, leading farther than the eye could see, but Koa walked with a purpose, twisting and turned through the garden until she found the exact spot she was looking for.
There was the soft sound of water falling in the background, the waterfall gracefully landing in a glistening pool in the ground. The land, with a less-traveled path to reach the sanctuary, was scattered with wildflowers and small bushes and trees that seemed to never die. Not far from the edge of the pool was a stone bench, where a brunette sat with his leg propped up. His striking features, a cocky smile, and sharp, brown eyes made it obvious who his parent was. Zach, the son of Aphrodite, glanced over lazily and shot Koa a smug smirk, leaning back on an arm in an image of relaxation.
"Well, look who finally decided to show up," Zach chuckled, tossing his hair out of his face with a flick of his head. Koa rolled her eyes and stopped walking a few feet from the bench. On the ground in front of it, a girl was curly, black hair and brown eyes glanced up, a flower twisting in her delicate, mahogany hands.
"You know we're trying to meet in secret, Zach," Nesrin, the daughter of Hades and Persephone, reminded him. She shook her head slightly and glanced back down at the flower in her hands. "You can't expect Koa to show up on time."
