Chapter 3

Val's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning to the sun shining through the hotel windows. I got out of bed and walked out on the balcony.

The view was breath taking.

I grabbed my phone and took a picture and uploaded it to instagram.

" @ValSmith: The view is gorgeous. First night in Cali was great.🌴☀️"

I scrolled through instagram and twitter until I finally decided that I should get up and get ready.

I walked to the closet and grabbed a baseball tee with grey sleeves, light washed denim capris, and black sandals.

I turned on the shower and hopped in.

After the shower I grabbed my makeup. I applied mascara, eyeshadow and some lipgloss.

I curled my hair and put a braided black headband in.

When I was finished getting ready, it was 11:00 and Em was still sleeping.

I grabbed a pillow and hit her a couple times .

She shot out of bed and screamed " WHY IN THE FLYING FUCK WOULD YOU WAKE ME UP THIS EARLY."

" EM... ITS 11:00." I yelled back.

" Oh... whoops. Well I'm going to go get ready." She said and walked to the bathroom.

I sat on the bed and texted Madison to see what we were doing today.

To Madison: Hey. Do we have anything planned today?

From Madison: Hey girl. Yes actually we do. I'll come pick you, Em and shawn up from the hotel. We're picking songs we want to sing.

To Madison: Okay. Sounds good. What time?

From Madison: 12:30

To Madison: Ok. See you thenJ

After I texted Madison, I opened up a new message with Hayes.

To Hayes🏈😊:Hey. First night in Cali= success

From Hayes🏈😊: I'm glad! North Carolina just isn't the same without you.

To Hayes🏈😊: Stop it! You're going to make me cry!!:(

From Hayes🏈😊:Don't cry!

To Hayes🏈😊: I'll try not to! I miss you so much!!

From Hayes🏈😊:I miss you too! I gtg but Ill talk to you soon!

To Hayes🏈😊:Okay. Bye

After I Finished texting Hayes Em came out of the bathroom wearing a flannel, jeans and white converse.

" Hey. Madison is coming to get us in !5 minutes." I told her.

" Okay. What do we have planned today?" She asked.

" Picking out songs for the tour."

" Sounds fun." She replied.

" Eh I guess. After do you want to do some shopping?" I asked.

" Do you even have to ask? Lets go to The Grove. Ive heard its awesome." She asked.

" Oh. Ive heard that place has some good shopping!" I replied.

" So it's a plan!."

I texted shawn telling him to come up to our room so we can all walk down together.

He knocked on our door and walked inside.

" Hey Shawn." Em said.

" Hey Em. Hey Val."

" Hey. Are you excited to pick songs?" I asked.

" Yes! I cant wait. I have a few in mind but I don't know." He said.

" same. This will be hard." I replied.

My phone beeped saying that Madison was here.

" Hey guys madison is here. Lets go," I told them.

I grabbed my wallet and we all walked out of the hotel room.

We opened up the door to her car and climbed in.

Shawn got shotgun and Em and I were in the back.

" Hey guys. Are you excited?" Madison asked.

" Yes." We all replied.

We jammed out to some music and I vined some of it.

We pulled up to the studio and got out of the car.

I walked inside and it was so pretty. The walls were a cream color and the furniture looked really expensive, I didn't want to touch anything.

" Hello everybody. Welcome to Sunset Studio. My name is Luke. I'm Madisons manager." Luke said.

" Hi Luke. My name is Valerie, but you can call me Val. I'm very happy to be apart of the tour. Thanks for inviting me." I replied, shaking his hand.

" Hi sir. My name is Shawn. Thanks for also inviting me to be here." Shawn told Luke.

" No problem. You both are very talented. Now follow me and we can get started."

We followed him down a hallway and arrived in a very nice room.

It had a long table with a ton of chairs.

We all sat down. I sat next to Em, Shawn sat next to me and Madison sat next to Shawn.

" Okay. So lets begin. Val. Do you have any songs that you want to sing?" Luke asked me.

" I have a few, not many though." I replied.

" Well lets hear them." He said as he grabbed an expo marker.

" Umm When You Sleep, 18, Dear future Husband, Clouds, They Don't Know About Us, Meanwhile Back At Mama's, and What The Heart Wants." I told him.

" Those are all wonderful songs. I'm sure youll sing them great."

" Thank you sir." I replied.

We finished up at Sunset Studio and we were all walking to Madisons car.

" Hey Madison. Do you mind dropping me off at the hotel?" Shawn asked her.

" No not at all." She replied.

" Thanks so much."

She pulled up to the hotel and Shawn got out.

" Bye girls." He said

" Bye."

" So girls. Is there anything you want to do?" Madison asked us.

" We were thinking of going to the Grove, would you care to join us?" Em asked her.

" Sounds like fun. I need some comfy clothes for tour. How bout yall?" She asked.

" I know I do. Traveling while wearing jeans is not fun." I responded.

" For real" Em said.

We arrived at the Grove and Madison parked her car.

The first store we went to was Nordstrom. I got 2 pairs of leggings, 3 cropped tops and a pair of brown riding boots. Em got 3 sweaters, 2 scarves, 1 pair of sweats and a pair of brown ankle boots. Madison got a pair of ripped jeans, 2 cropped halter tops, 3 pairs of leggings and a pair of black heels.

Next we went into to Topshop , which I have never been into, but I think its my new favorite store.

I got a black maxi skirt, a blue collared shirt with studs, and 2 cardigans. Em got a pair of denim jeans, 2 pairs of sandals, and a plain green v-neck shirt. Madison got a black leather jacket, 2 brallets, and a pair of ripped leggings.

After shopping, Em and I had Madison take us back to the hotel so we could have time to pack and get a goods nights rest.

Tomorrow is the start of the tour and I could not be any happier.
