Chapter 18

Val's P.O.V

The waiter arrived with our food and Maddie came back.

" Val i am so sorry about her." She told me.

" It's no problem." I reassured her.

We finished up our food and went our own ways.

i heard my phone buzz and looked at it. It was a text from Maddie.

Maddie🌺:Hey Val. Want to go shopping and to lunch tomorrow?

Me: Of course. What time?

Maddie🌺:12?

Me: Sounds good. see you then.

" Who was that?" Hayes asked me.

" Maddie. I'm hanging out with her tomorrow if that's okay." I said.

" Of course. I'm glad you get along with her." He told me

" She's really sweet. i see why she's your best friend." I said.

" Yeah. She's pretty great. But you're better." He said smirking.

We pulled up into his driveway and walked inside.

" Hey guys. How was dinner?" Elizabeth asked us.

" It was wonderful. i had a great time. If you'll excuse me, I am going to bed." I told them.

" I'll be up there in a little bit. I love you babe." Hayes told me giving me a kiss.

i walked upstairs and grabbed my pajamas, put them on and did everything else that i needed to.

I crawled into Hayes' bed and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

___ Next Morning__

I woke up with Hayes' arms wrapped around me.

I moved them so I could start getting ready for my day with Maddie.

My outfit consisted of a grey short sleeve shirt hemmed with lace, blue pants and black combat boots.

I did my makeup really natural and curled my hair.

When I finished getting ready it was 11:30 and Hayes was still sleeping.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen where I found Elizabeth.

" Goodmorning dear. What are you doing today?" She asked me.

" Maddie asked me to go shopping with her." I said.

" Sounds fun. But can you be home by 4? All of us are going to a fancy dinner at 6." She asked me.

" Yeah sure no problem. Well i have to leave now. Can you tell Hayes that I left?" I asked.

" Sure no problem. Have fun."

" Thanks I will." i said walking out the door.

I saw Maddie waiting in her car in the Griers driveway.

I opened the car door and got in.

" Hey girl. Ready to shop till we drop?" She asked me.

" Totally. This trip is well needed." I said.

" So I was thinking. We can go to Starbucks before then hit the outlets and then go to the mall." She told me.

" Sounds like a plan." I told her.

" Good." She said laughing.

We pulled into the drivethrew at starbucks and ordered our drinks.

When we got them, we pulled out and started driving to the outlets.

After about a 15 minute drive we arrived.

" Is there a certain store you want to go in first?" She asked me.

" Nope. I'm just along for the ride." I said laughing.

She started laughing and we walked towards Nordstroms.

I found a really pretty hot pink crop top and a black pencil skirt.

" What do you think of these together?" i asked her.

" I love it. What do you think about this?" She asked me, holding up a tribal print crop top.

" It will look really pretty on you. i think you should get it." I told her

" Aw thanks. i think I will, You should get that outfit." She told me.

" One step ahead of you." I told her.

When Maddie said we were going to shop till we drop, she meant it.

We ended up shopping for 4 straight hours, at 3 different shopping malls.

I arrived home a few minutes ago with 7 bags in hand.

" Hey guys." I said as I walked into the family room.

" Hello Val. How was shopping." They asked.

" Pretty good. We went to 3 different malls. Maddie likes to shop." I said laughing.

" Oh trust me. We know." Elizabeth told me.

" Well i'm going to go get ready for dinner." I told them then started walking up the stairs.

I walked into Hayes' room and he wasn't in there but I heard the shower running so I knew he was there.

I grabbed the hot pink top and black skirt out of the bag and laid them on the bed.

" Wow. That's a hot outfit." Hayes said smirking wearing only a towel leaning against the door.

" Well thanks. It's new." i said walking over to him.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a kiss.

" Now, go put on some clothes babe." I told him.

" Don't lie. I know you like it." He said smirking,

" I'm not lying. You do look pretty hot in a towel." I said blushing.

He walked back into the bathroom and I changed my clothes.

When he was done, I walked into the bathroom and added eyeliner and a coat of lipgloss.

When I finished, I grabbed a pair of black flats and slipped those on.

" Ready to go babe?" i asked him.

" Yes princess." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me down the stairs.

We arrived at this really fancy restaurant that i don't know how to pronounce.

I sat next to Hayes and everybody else filed in the seats.

" So Val. How's your singing career?" Chad asked me.

" Pretty good. I quit the tour with Madison so now I don't know what I am going to do sadly." i responded.

" Well you can always join 26mgmt with Hayes, Nash, and Cam. We'd love to have you." Chad told me.

" Really? I would love to. Thank you." i said smiling.

Over all, this dinner was great and i felt so at home with them.
