Chapter 9

" I don't appreciate you calling me a bitch Valerie." Madison came up to me.

" I don't appreciate you going behind my back. I guess we're both even." I said smirking.

" Val. Shut up. She's not worth it." Kaylee said grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the door.

" Ugh she makes me so mad. I don't understand how I was ever friends with her." I told Kaylee and Em.

" To be honest. I don't know how you were either. " Kaylee told me.

My phone buzzed and I pulled it out of my pocket. It was a text from Hayes.

Hayes👊: I'm so sorry about Madison Val. I didn't realize how much of a bitch she is to you. Please. Can we meet up somewhere and talk.

" Guys. Look what Hayes texted me. " I told them and showed them the message.

" Meet up with him. It may be good for you." Kaylee told me.

" ok."

Me: Ok. Where do you want to meet?

Hayes👊: Lemonade?

Me: k. I'll be there in 10.

Hayes👊: Ok.

" hey guys. I'm going to meet Hayes at Lemonade. See yall later." I told them

Hayes was waiting outside of the restaurant for me.

" Hey. " I said.

" Hey Val. Thanks for meeting me. " he said.

" No problem. Is Madison going to get mad because I'm with you?" I asked.

" Probably. But I don't care. I needed to talk to you. " he said.

" okay. Well let's get food and then we can talk." I told him.

We both walked inside and sat down.

I ordered a salad, lemonade and a macaron.

" okay. So talk" I said taking a sip of my lemonade.

" I am so sorry for what I did. It's just. We haven't talked in 4 years and Madison started texting me and I asked her out. She told me not to tell you and she made me hide every time I came to visit her. I tried to get her to tell you. I even tried to go to your hotel room to see you but she wouldn't let me. Val it wasn't me. I promise! " Hayes said and he looked like he was about to cry.

" So all along Madison was using me to get to you?" I asked.

" Yeah. I'm sorry."

" is that why she had Shawn come too? Because she wanted an actual opening act and I was just a fake one?"

" Yeah. " Hayes said.

" Did Em know?" I asked.

" No."

" Did Shawn know?"

" Uh... Yes." Hayes told me.

" Wha...What." I felt tears coming to my eyes.

" He's lied to me for the past 4 years. And here I was thinking somebody actually thought i was talented" I started crying even more.

" c'mon Val. Let's go back to my hotel room. Okay?" Hayes asked me.

" Ok. And hayes?" I asked.

" Yes?"

" I forgive you. " I said and smiled.

We got to the hotel and went into the elevator. Hayes pulled out his room key and we walked to his room.

When he opened the door I couldn't Believe my eyes.

" Sha-Shawn?" I said.

" Mad-Madison?" Hayes said.

Shawn and Madison were making out.

" HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON?" I screamed.

" Uh...3 months. " Shawn answered.

" YOU HAVE BEEN CHEATING ON ME FOR 3 MONTHS?" I screamed again.

" Look Val-" shawn stared to say but I cut him off.

" No. You listen. I don't ever want to see you again. I can't believe you would do this to me. You're such an ass. I was such a fucking idiot to ever think you loved me." I said and slapped him.

I ran out of the room and knocked on my door.

Em answered

" Val what happened. " She asked.

" Shawn and Madison making out. He's been cheating on me for 3 months with her." I said crying even more.

" I'm going to kick his ass." Em said.

" What a fucking dick." Kaylee said.

" I'm going to go see Hayes. " I told them and walked out the door.

When I walked out I ran into Hayes.

" Hey I was just coming to see you. " I said laughing a little.

" You want to go to my room?" He asked.

" if that's okay with you. " I said half smiling.

" of course Val. "

Hayes grabbed my hand and we walked to his room.

When we got there, I jumped on his bed and went under the covers and started crying even more.

Hayes immediately crawled into bed next to me.

" Do you need anything. " he asked.

" just hold me please." I told him.

" Okay. " he wrapped his arms around me and I fell asleep.

It was good to be in his arms again.
