Hi there my name is Ava Thomson. I'm twenty-one and I'm from L.A. California. I'm moving to New York today because I had to move my dance studio. I've loved dancing for as long as I can remember, and I've become really good at over the years. I had to relocate to a smaller space due to the rent becoming an issue on my old studio. I know there are probably plenty of places in L.A. I could rent for a cheaper price, but I never once left L.A. My entire life. so I decided it was about time I changed that. Once I pack up some last minute items the movers come and pick up my things and I head to the airport.
When I arrive at the airport I go through security and what not then wait at the gate for my flight. "Is it cool if I sit here?" A voice asks. I look up from my book to see a red headed women around the same age, if not a bit older than me. "Sure." I answer. "Thanks." "So you visiting New York or going home?" I ask. "Home I just came here on some business. you?" She replies "I'm moving there today." I answer. "I'm sure you'll love it. I'm Natasha by the way." she says as she holds out her hand for me to shake. "Ava, nice to meet you." I reply shaking her hand.
The two of us talk as we wait to board the plane. and as luck would have it we were seated next to each other on the flight. as we take off I start to get really nervous. "You alright?" She asks "yeah... just my first time flying is all." I reply. " At your age you've never been on a plane?" "nope I've never left L.A. before sooo..." I answer. "It's really not that bad. just look out the window it's a great view." she suggests. I turn my head and gulp. "Well I'm definitely over my fear of flying." I say "see its not bad." she answers. "It's really not... it's just been replaced by a new fear of heights." I reply and we both laugh.
Natasha and I became airplane buddies for the who knows how many hours we were on the plane. When we landed she woke me up and we went our separate ways. I take a cab to my new apartment and when I arrive I can't wait to see the apartment while not looking at a computer screen. The cab drops me outside the building. I grab my luggage and pay the driver, then make my way inside. " Let's see... apartment 232..." I think aloud starring at the piece of paper with my apartment number on it.
"Need some help?" a voice says from behind me. I turn around and see a blonde, muscular man standing behind me. "Yes actually. where is apartment 232?" I ask. "That's right next to mine you must be my new neighbor. I'm Steve Rogers nice to meet you." he says and we shake hands "Ava Thomson, nice to meet you Steve." I reply. Steve shows me to my apartment and even offers to carry up my bag but I politely decline. "Here we are." Steve says. "Thanks again." I say "any time. if you need help moving your stuff in just let me know." he says. I smile and reply "thanks that would a great help. I'll see you around." I reply and open the door to my new apartment.
"See you around." Steve replies and proceeds into his apartment. When I step in my apartment it's even better then It looked on the computer screen. Only problem, I have to wait two weeks for my furniture to get here. That means two weeks of sleeping on the floor. Although I came prepared, I brought a sleeping bag and a pillow in my carry on. Though I guess that's not that great of statement since I'm still sleeping on the floor for two weeks.
I set up my ' bed ' for later and change into my dance clothes. I hook up my Bluetooth speaker and my phone and go through a list of songs before I get to candyman by Christina Aguilera. "Perfect." I think out loud. I turn the volume up but not to the point where it would be annoying. Tomorrow I start teaching dance and I haven't had time to come up with anything due to the move. The music starts to play and I start to plan out the choreography.
I teach three different classes which means three different dances to come up with in one night. So Candyman will be used for the adult class I teach. I have to come up with a dance for that as well as the teen class and the children's class. It's gonna be a long night. It takes me from one o'clock to three o'clock to come up with the adults dance. I take a quick break for lunch as I browse through songs for the other classes, and occasionally singing along with the words.
After lunch I decide to use dear future husband by Megan Trainer for the children's class. That takes me all of a hour and a half to come up with. As for the teen class I decided on one, two step by Ciara. Before I started working on that I ate dinner. Until I know my way around the area I'm currently living off the food in the vending machines down stairs.
I put a dollar in the machine and buy a water then do the same for the snack machine but my bag of cookies get stuck. "Seriously." I groan. "Want some help?" I turn to see Steve "you'd be a life saver." I say. He hits the machine and the bag falls. "Thanks." I say " so this desert for you?" He says jokingly. "Actually this is my dinner. I don't know the area and I haven't had time to go shopping." I say. "Your welcome to come to my place for dinner if you want." He offers "thanks but I'm gonna have to say no, you've helped me a lot today I wouldn't want to impose." .
"You wouldn't be imposing at all. You just moved in and you said it yourself, you haven't had time to shop." He insists. "Are you sure?" I ask "yeah it's fine." "ok thanks, I owe you big time." I reply and we walk back to his apartment.
