Just the Night

I never went to sleep last night. I stayed up trying to figure out what was going to happen next. My top priority, however, was figuring out how to keep this place a secret.

I shook my head, just slightly, as I stared at all the information spread out on the kitchen island.

"None of this makes sense? Ugh!"

I threw my cup off the table and into the wall, shattering it.

"Hey, woah, calm down there."

My body shot around to look at who was standing there.

"Yoongi, Jin, you scared me. Did I wake you?"

Jin shrugged.

"If I say you did, will you buy me food?"

I chuckled.

"Jin, it's 5 A.M. No one is open right now."

"...Later then."

I shook my head as Yoongi leaned on the table.

Maybe you should just relax a bit. You're stressing yourself out too much with us."

"It's a lot bigger than you think it is, kiddo."

He tilted his head as Jin sat down. I sighed and looked at the two of them.

"One of the guys after us tonight. He said 'Daddy doesn't play.'"

They both gave me a confused look.

"My father is after you all now."

"What?!"

I sighed, waving my hands to shush them.

"Ever since I was little, I knew what he did for a living. He always told me a woman couldn't do what he did, especially not take after him. That didn't stop him from trying to teach me the ways of what he did."

They leaned in, as if they were telling me they were listening.

"I was never really interested in it. I wanted no part in anything that had to do with him. When I told him that I never wanted to take part in what he did, he hit me, so I ran away. Being his only daughter, he didn't really like that much. He set a bounty over my head hoping to get me home. Obviously, it didn't work. I got out from under his radar and went off the grid for a while."

"Daddy, what are you doing?"

"Teaching you how to use this."

He held out a gun towards me. I squirmed away.

"But I-"

"No buts. Remember. Always an accomplice, never the leader."

I grumped, taking the gun from his hands. I don't want to do this. The door suddenly opened.

"Sir, you're needed in the office."

"Alright, I'll be right there. Alright, kiddo, practice aiming this. You've been getting better at it."

He got up and stepped out of the room. As soon as I heard the door shut, I dropped the gun, and walked to the other door.

I walked into my bed room and shut the door, only to be scared by Jax.

"Oh jeez Jax,you scared me."

He smiled widely.

"Sorry, (Y/N), didn't mean to do that."

I shook my head and rolled my eyes.
