Eyes In The Sky

I was sitting in my room, staring out the window while everyone got the place ready for the ball.

First the investigator, note that phone call.

The only thing I can do is not trust anyone. I have to take everything I hear seriously.

"M'lady, your father requests you in his office."

I take a deep breath, not acknowledging the maid. She leaves and I slowly stand up, making my way out and to fathers office.

I opened his door and he stands there, smiling at me.

"Come, sit."

I hesitantly sit, eyeing him closely. He passed me a drink and I refuse.

"Have you gotten any suspicious calls lately?"

"No sir, why?"

He sat down in front of me.

"Baby you know you shouldn't lie to me."

"I'm not father.  The only call I've gotten was yesterday and that was to let me know that your shipment came in."

He leans back, suspiciously eyeing me. He seemed to have bought my lie though.

"Okay. Go get ready, the ball starts in 30 minutes."

I nod, standing up and leaving.

I walked to my room, eyeing the security guards who noticed me and started talking into their ear piece. I walked in and shut the door, stalling on getting ready.

I stared outside again, sitting in my window nook. Watching as the guests arrived, I searched the crowd, taking in all of the faces. One looked familiar.

The private investigator.

I furrowed my eyebrows. What the hell is he doing here?

I eyed him closely as he pulled his phone out and spoke for a few minutes. He suddenly turned heel and left. Okay, Fucking weirdo. Then I noticed someone else on the phone, but I couldn't see their face.

My eyes quickly moved and slight annoyance filled my face when I saw Charlotte. I rolled my eyes to the side, eyeing my dress. Everyone at the ball seemed to be wearing bright colors with puffy ass skirts to them. Mine looked just like the rest.

I glared at the dress and walked to my closet, pulling out a slim black mermaid style dress. It had a peek slit in the side, with a classy straight across neck line and small subtle gems across the straps.

I placed my holster on my tight, making sure the peek slit wouldn't uncover it if I didn't want it to.

Then I grabbed my pistol. None is supposed to be armed. The only armed are the security guards and now me. For my make up, I did a bold Smokey eye, (F/C) in the cut crease. It also happened to be the only color to my whole demeanor.

I then did my hair, curling it and letting it fall in Waves for a full look. I sighed, looking at the time. The ball started 45 minutes ago. Suddenly I hear my fathers voice.

"Thank you! Thank you! I appreciate you all for coming out. Tonight will be different because for the first time in 15 years, I have a very very special guest."

I guess that's my. I started making my way to the stair case, making sure not to be shown. If my father was going to kill me just like the call said, might as well give him reasons right.

"Ladies and gentlemen, my daughter, (Y/N) (L/N)!!"

Everyone cheered as I walked down the steps. I glanced at my father noticing a slight glare from him. Smirking, I got to the floor, and was immediately surrounded by guests greeting me and shaking my hands.
