✧ ೃ༄*ੈ✩"It's going to explode."
A man scoffed. Rob Davis. "It's not. We already fixed it. I personally overlooked everything."
Althena Chen shook her head and started pointing at the blueprint and maps. "No, no, no. Look at this section right here just near the rocket thrusters. The alpha-CB wires are supposed to connect to propellant B. The power outlet from that would enter section 314 and would allow electricity to move through minor crosspoints 12 and 13. It would travel and reach this panel over here but with the connections right now, it would go the opposite way to propellant D and cross-block 248 making it go kaboom."
The room went silent.
She further explained multiple errors and parts that probably needed updating. She flipped through multiple photos showing the mistakes.
"Why would we listen to a 19-year-old girl who doesn't know any better." A bunch of middle-aged men started nodding at his words. She held in a scoff.
"Yeah I am 19 and I'm already here, aren't I? How old are you again?" He started turning red from embarrassment.
The men around the table started muttering to each other, her foot was tapping on the floor repetitively in impatience. "Why not send someone there just to check? It wouldn't hurt, right?" A man—Daniel Mason—argued.
Rob glared at the man. "Oh yeah? And tell Jaha what? A 19-year-old girl thinks there's something wrong with what a group of real mechanics and engineers built?" He laughed obnoxiously, "You know this ship has to launch today. He won't appreciate delaying this any longer."
She was getting tired of her age and gender being brought up. She slammed her hand on the table. "Who the hell cares about what Jaha thinks? There are 100 people on board. You're risking all of them for what? Because you're too embarrassed to admit you made a mistak—"
He cut her off by quickly launching at Thena, his men pulling him back. She glared at him, maintaining her stance while crossing her arms.
Pathetic. A grown-ass man trying to pick a fight with a 19-year old. She'd win anyway.
"Those are teenagers. Only a couple of years younger than me. Some are kids. If they die, if that ship explodes, that's one hundred of them on your conscience."
He huffed as he sat down back at his seat. "Nothing's going to happen." He rolled his eyes.
"This isn't a matter of who's right and wrong or whose smarter. Lives are at stake. We have no time for your bruised ego! I can quickly check. I'll even take responsibility for your sorry ass."
"It's already due to launch in 2 hours. Like I told you there's nothing to worry about. Besides, there's barely anything that could be done in that timeframe anyway."
