A 15-year-old Althena Chen was walking back to her place after her usual visits to her good friend Jasper Jordan. She was currently wandering in the Farm station, her boots clanking on the metal floors.
She was slightly tipsy, a skip in her step. She wondered if Raven would be there when she got back to the Mecha station or if she'd be too busy with her are-they-aren't-they boyfriend Finn Collins.
She was lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice a boy barrelling down the corridor. They roughly collided, sending both of them toppling to the floor. With Thena's balance already impaired from the alcohol, it wasn't that difficult to get her down.
She groaned, her eyes shut, clutching her stomach and feeling slightly nauseous. The boy quickly stood up on his feet, panicking at the sight of the girl on the floor.
"Oh my god! I-I'm s-so sorry! I'm so sorry! I-I didn't me—I'm sorry!" He sputtered about, tears already starting to form in his eyes.
She opened her eyes to see the boy—young—about 13, his face extremely red and looking like he was about to cry. There was something comical about it that Thena couldn't help but laugh at.
She pushed herself to a sitting position, resting her back on the cold walls of the ark. The boy quickly dropped himself beside her still sputtering out apologies.
She was still laughing slightly, tears in her eyes as well. She wasn't quite sure why she was laughing. At first, it was because of the boy but then it might have been because she was slightly drunk.
She watched as his lips started to quiver and the tears in his eyes dripped. Her eyes widened and she suddenly sobered up.
"No! It's okay! I'm sorry! I wasn't laughing at you. It was just funny! Don't cry!" She started to try to control the damage but the boy just cried even more.
She was insanely stressed, not being good with kids and crying, even though he was just a couple of years younger than her. "Damn it! Uh, I-I... "
This time it was her that was sputtering out her sentences, not knowing what to do. She started turning red as well, panicking. She tugged her hair to try to calm herself down.
The boy watched and in true irony, he found it comical. He started giggling at first before it turned to full-blown laughing.
Thena stopped mid-panic at the sound of laughter. She turned to look at the boy now clutching his stomach in laughter before she joined in.
If anyone walked by, they'd see two kids on the floor with tears in their eyes laughing hard. The sight, in true nature of their relationship, was comical
