Marcus Kane stood there as proud as ever. And Thena didn't know how to react.

"How...?"

He sighed, "Hypocrite. You always hated them, yet that's what you are."

Thena scrunched up her brows, "How are you here? You're not supposed to—"

"Telling that boy to not run away? That's exactly what you did, Althena. Exactly what you are doing," He continued. "You're just a scared little girl with big girl responsibilities that you could never handle. I understand now, you're similar to that Blake boy. Maybe that's why you want him to make all the right decisions."

"No," she snapped. "That's not true."

Kane chuckled, "A liar too. How can you tell the poor boy you are going to protect him? You couldn't even protect them."

Thena whipped around to the sight of Wells on the ground; his throat slit and blood covering his entire body. She wanted to throw up. Beside him was Roma, a gaping hole in her chest and blood pooling everywhere.

And then there was him, Johnny.

Unlike the two, he stood there with his back towards Althena yet she could recognize him from anywhere. From where she stood, she could see all the blood dripping from him from gaping wounds and flesh torn from his body.

She choked up at the sight of him.

She could see the noose around his neck, and as Murphy slowly turned around he was pulled away into the darkness.

"Johnny!" she screamed his name. She ran after him not even noticing the figure of Marcus Kane disappearing.

She burst through the bunker doors, the sky above her spinning madly.

She heard Johnny scream for her. "Johnny!" she shouted for him desperately.

Thena stumbled around the roots of the trees and the incline, searching for him like a madman. And then suddenly, he stood there, a few meters away from her.

"Johnny..."

She took a step forward when suddenly a spear came out of nowhere landing right in the center of Murphy's chest, impaling him.

She let out a guttural scream.

A grounder rose from behind Johnny approaching her. She was stepping back in fear as it continued to inch forward. She was whimpering now, completely vulnerable.

She fell on her back. Oh, how far the mighty has fallen. She deserved it, she thought. This might not be so bad. Wells was waiting for her. Possibly Johnny. Maybe she could even meet her mother.
