I'm back!

Thank you to all those who patiently waited :). If anyone's wondering why the story is so slow, my writing style is building character and providing in-depth backstories which is why there's a lot of scenes that do not necessarily drive the plot but instead builds relationships.

Anyways, for good news, I increased my SAT score by 100 points!! :)) But I know you all are here for the story so here we go!

An eight-year-old girl sat in front of a large window in her living room, overviewing the green planet.

She was incredibly lucky to even have a window in her home, much less a big one in her equally large living room. She watched as the clouds moved bit by bit and how the Earth revealed a part of itself slowly but surely.

Though, she had already memorized every inch of the Earth by now.

Just then, the doorknob to her home jiggled, drawing her attention to the entrance. The door opened to reveal her father, his tired and weary face evident.

His gaze lazily traveled across the room, stopping at the small girl sitting in front of the window. His face lit up with a gentle smile.

"Althena, what are you doing on the floor again?" He shook his head in disapproval but still so endearingly. "The floor is cold, you might get sick."

"I'm looking at the Earth, daddy, what else?" She gave him a toothy grin.

He dropped his things on the living room couch and went to her. He sat beside her in front of the window.

She continued, "Well, space as well but you can't really see the moon and stars from here. The view is much better where Uncle Jake works. He said it's where all the smart people are."

He chuckled, "Mecha station?"

"Yeah!"

"You've been watching from here since you were a baby. Do you never get bored of it?"

She shrugged, "You ask me that all the time. What can I say? It's cool."

She pressed her finger on the cold glass, a fog forming from the heat of her finger, "I mean look how blue Earth is! You can even see the atmosphere. We just learned about the atmosphere in school today."

"Really?"

"Yep! I already knew what it was though, but I pretended I didn't so answering the questions was really easy. My teacher even said I'm one of her brightest students."
