"Who's coming again!?" Louis screeched. His heart thumped in his chest, so hard he was afraid Simon could hear it. The thought of facing Harry again scared him to no bounds. It wasn't just the fact that he was Louis' ex, his green eyes and brown curls also added to the distress. The last time the pair had talked was years ago. The last time the pair had talked was when they broke up.

Simon just rolled his eyes at Louis' behavior. "Yes Louis, THE Harry Styles will be gracing you with his presence in less than five minutes. And guess what? You're going to have to face him. The sales for the new album are going down and we need something to boost them. Furthermore, ever since Harry left the band, no matter how many times all of you have to specify the negative, everyone assumes that Harry hates the band and the band hates Harry. And no matter how much we deny it, I think we all know Harry was the most loved out of all of you so him leaving really affected the following of the band. It's just one song Louis. So that the fans calm down."

"Don't talk about the fans as if they are some kids that need a chocolate to stop their bickering." Louis growled, his voice low. Both of them knew the only reason Louis did not choose to comment on Simon's previous statement was because he knew it was right. Harry was going to come and Louis would just have to deal with it. Even though Harry was the one who had initiated the break up, Louis knew that the split was due to his actions. He knew how jealous Harry got whenever Louis spent time with Eleanor, no matter how many times Louis denied it. The day Harry left, Louis was in the bar with Eleanor, what he didn't know was that the paps were there too and that they had caught the moment when Eleanor tried to kiss Louis. Even though he broke he kiss, by the time he came back to the hotel, the photo was all over the internet. Harry had seen he photo, choosing to break up with Louis instead of listening to his side of the story. Two days later, Harry officially left the band. Even though he kept in touch with the other boys, Harry had not responded to any of Louis' apology messages. The thought of facing him again chilled Louis to the bones.

Before he could say anything else, he heard the door behind him open and someone walk in. Simon's face lit up his face stretching into a rare genuine smile. Louis didn't have time to turn, before he heard him. Harry's deep raspy drawl was one he couldn't forget. He had dreamed of hearing this voice again. "Simon! How long has it been? 3 years? How have you been man?" Harry said, Louis hearing the smile in his voice. Simon walked around Louis and when Louis turned he saw the pair hugging. His eyes were immediately drawn to Harry. He had not changed much, his hair was longer now, reaching well below his shoulders. He wore a black button-up silk shirt and a pair of black ripped jeans and Chelsea boots. Damn...

Harry turned suddenly, breaking the hug. Louis didn't have time to look away, and their eyes locked. Green met Blue and Louis suddenly remembered all the times they had spent together, the good ones and the bad. He didn't have the strength to break the stare, his entire body felt alight at having seen Harry again. He forgot about Simon. All he could think of was the green in Harry's eyes. Before he could say anything however, Harry tore his gaze away from Louis, something like a grimace settling over his features. Louis tried to hide his hurt and looked back at Simon to find him already looking at him. Simon's mouth opened, and just as he was about to talk, his phone. Louis' stomach filled with dread, he knew what was going to happen now. Simon accepted the call, and started walking towards the door, leaving Louis and Harry in the room alone.

Awkward silence filled the room, both the boys in the room trying to avoid looking at each other. Louis felt pain blossom in his chest. Before, if Simon had left the pair would be excited. It would lead to a lot of silly conversation, jokes and a make out session most likely. Right now, they were both standing there with shuffling feet and nervous glances around the room. Louis couldn't take the silence so he finally decided to address the elephant in the room. "Listen. I know you probably hate me. Trust me I would too if I were you. But you never bothered to listen to my side of the story. It was all a big misunderstanding. You never once bothered to hear me out when I was trying to tell you that Eleanor kissed me. I broke the kiss, and it was never my fault that the paps just happened to randomly show up and click the pictures. I am sorry that you had to see that but you need to understand I never meant for that to happen. You know I  would have never done that to you. I loved you... I love you..." Louis was scared to look up, scared to see Harry's face after his confession. With a fluttering heart and sweaty forehead, he looked up. Though he soon wished he hadn't.

Harry's face was vulnerable, several emotions fighting for dominance. Hurt, pain, longing, adoration, awe and skepticism. Finally, Louis saw the walls come up. His face closed off, all conflicting emotions changing to an indifferent one. Louis felt something like heart break. He wouldn't understand. Suddenly, Harry barked out a laugh. "Misunderstanding..." he muttered. "It's always a misunderstanding."

"Sorry, I had to take that." Simon entered the room, unaware of the happenings just seconds back. "Anyways, the other boys should be here in some time. Why don't we start on the ideas?" Louis looked at Harry, but the latter didn't return the gaze. He was avoiding looking at Louis. Louis sighed, turning towards Simon.

"What's the plan then? Are we writing about love, heartbreak, friendship?" Louis asked. The reply was unexpected to say the least.

"Misunderstanding. We will be writing about misunderstanding."
