Quitting DNA

I banged the back of the pot with a wooden spoon, messing up the boys. Zac laughed.

Dana, Gabe, and Cole were messing around on ustream. They were making up a song.

"Really?" Gabe asked quietly, still playing and laughing.

"Really really!" I said. I stopped and sat down the spoon and pot on the countertop.

"This is all we have time for today! Goooooooooodbyyyyyyyye!" Dana sang, stopping the ustream. Everyone stopped playing their makeshift instrument.

Cole walked over to me. I put my arms around his neck. His arms went around my waist. We swayed.

"Well hello." I said smiling. He pecked me.

"Hi." He pecked me again. We began to kiss.

"Ew." I heard Zac say, mimicking the voice Jimmy Fallon uses. Cole and I stopped kissing and stared at Zac. Zac walked away from the awkwardness.

I need to make my, 'Im quitting YouTube' video. I've decided, since that life is giving me too much things on plate, I am going to quit YouTube. It's been fun; met lots of new friends. It's benefitted me.

"Cole?" I said.

"Yes, babe." Cole replied.

"I need to make my last video." I told him. He nodded and let me go. I walked over to the laptop and used that to record my video.

"Hey guys, it's Little Fish! Today is my last video. Yeah I know. I have decided to quit because I have too much things to handle. It's been good to me. Met new friends, but I got to go. I bet you will still see me other places. Okay bye Fishies." I said, sadly, stopping the video. I'm not even going to edit it I'm just going to post it. I posted it.

There was a knock at the door. Cole answered it. I could see that in the doorway was a small gentle looking man. He had his hair slicked back and glasses on. He had a white button up shirt and a black bow tie. He talked to Cole.

"Hey Ali! Come here!" Cole called. I walked over to then.

"Yeah?" I asked, putting my arm around Cole.

"This is Adam. He's apparently Josh's father." Cole said. I stared at the guy in the doorway.

"How do you know?" I asked, staring up at Cole.

"He has DNA tests. You have Josh's DNA test, right?" Cole told me. I nodded.

"You want me to go get them?" I asked pointing off down the hall.

"That would be nice." Cole answered. I ran off down the hall. I grabbed the test in my room.

I checked on Emma. Zac, Dana, and Gabe were entertaining her with sick puppets. I ran back out to Cole and Adam. Cole had let Adam in. I handed the tests to Cole. Adam did the same. Cole examined the two tests carefully, nodding.

"Ah I see!" Cole looked up from the tests.

"What?" Adam asked.

"Yeah I don't know how to tell. We will have to go to the doctor." Cole said, shrugging and laughing a little.

"Wanna go now? The boys are watching Emma." I suggested.

"I'm up for that. Adam?" Cole asked Adam.

"Sure!" Adam agreed. He had a nerdish voice. How did he end up hooking up with Coles sister? I shouldn't judge.

"I'll get Josh and tell the guys." I announced and walked off to do what I said I was going to do.

I poked my head through the doorway of Emma's room, "Cole and I are taking Josh somewhere. Can you watch Emma?"

"Yeah, sure." Dana replied.

"Thanks!" I went and got Josh who was playing with a stuffed animal in his crib.

I walked back to Cole and Adam. "There he his!" Cole said, holding his arms out. I handed Josh to him.

"Shall we get going?" Adam asked, motioning toward the door. Cole and I nodded.

•~•~•~•SKIP DOCTORS VISIT•~•~•~•

We just got back from the doctors office. It turns out Adam is Josh's dad. In two weeks, we have a court date to see if Adam gets legal custody. If so, he can take care of him. If not, we will continue to take care of him.

"Thanks again." Adam thanked, shaking our hands.

"You are very welcome." Cole smiled. I smiled.

Adam left. Now we wait for the court date.

•~•~•~•TWO WEEKS LATER•~•~•~•

"Please stand!" The officer guy says. Everyone stands as the judge walked to the gavel.

"You may sit." The judge said. Everyone sat. "I am Judge Kathy and you, Adam Thete, are here to win custody over Josh Pendery?" The judge confirmed.

"Yes, that is correct." Adam said.

Adam won custody. He took Josh home after stopping by our place to get all of Josh's things.

I had already put them in boxes because I knew Adam would win custody.

"Babe, we did good." Cole told me. Emma was already asleep. I pulled back sheet and sat on the bed.

"Josh will have fun." I said to myself. Cole joined me in bed, but actually laying down.

"Come snuggle with me." Cole said, lifting his arms up. I smiled and went to snuggle.

When we were almost asleep, the door opened and a small shadow appeared. "Co-co?" Emma said, worry in her voice. Cole sat up, so did I.

"Yes Emma?" Cole said, concern in his voice.

"I had a bad dream. Can I sleep with you and Ali?" Emma asked.

"Of course, Em!" I answered for Cole.

"Mkay." Emma said. She began to crawl onto the fort of the bed. Oce she was on, she came up to where Cole and I were. We scooted apart and she layed down underneath the covers in between Cole and I.

"Is that better?" Cole asked.

"Much better." Emma told us.

"Goodnight Emma. Goodnight Cole." I said. Cole grabbed my hand underneath the pillows.

"Goodnight." Emma and Cole said at the same time.
