Chapter eighteen: Promise Not To Fall

Next day:

Y/N was found typing away at one of the PC's present in the school's digital library desperately looking for some results. These were designed specially and consisted of the Dark Web which is unlike the regular one with interconnecting servers. Instead, everything stays internal on the Tor network, which provides security and privacy to everyone equally.

She did begin making it her daily routine almost because who knows maybe it is today she gets her hands on where the living brutality hides. She was addressing to non-other than Kim Taehyung wondering how vicious a person can to take away an innocent one who certainly hadn't harmed anyone in any way.

Annie had at countless occasions demonstrated the act of kindness towards living and the non-living alike because of how gentle she always was. Y/N mostly found herself merrily enjoying the time spent with her keeping in mind their opposite personalities but that was the reason they didn't get bored of each other. One had something unexpected planned for the other. She didn't say it much but she loved her sister dearly and she swore to protect her family, crushing everything that ever tries to harm them. Unlike her blood parents, to her family comes first.

Having to deal with another day leading to dead ends, she slammed her hands on the keyboard in pure frustration which almost leads to her tearing up but she came to her senses when told by the librarian to maintain silence. She rolled her eyes after feeling his presence leave and punched him in her head.

To be fair, he was doing his job but the female who numbly floated in the centre of the hurricane, her eyes burning with revenge mixed with fear tracing her body with the thoughts of losing her mind, needed to take out some of her anger understandably so we will say it was his fault to choose a bad time. And that's how she felt for the rest of the day.

Quite and distant. Isn't that what she is like usually? Now you know the reason too. Still not all of them though.

Class after class she felt her inner lethargy rise up and there came few bits she quite paying attention to the lecture but reminded herself the need to stay focused and forced herself to remain attentive like how the soldiers in armies are expected to be. Her friends were worried about her and tried to divert her attention but Y/N fully shut them out. Even though she didn't respond to them, they didn't seem to be bitchy about out since they actually cared about her, it was not just for show.

During the break, the whole group except Kai: Sam, Jennifer, Hawaso, Yuni, Moxy and Y/N gathered at the table and circulated chit-chats. The topic of "love" started to be out of a sudden and Y/N bit her inner cheek which heated up due to the immediate rush.

Jungkook began almost metastasizing her brain to which she didn't know how to respond to but as a reflex, her heart began to beat increasingly. The way he tenderly took care of her making sure she ate well, opening the door for her on the way out and paying the bill...again. Other little things he does which result in Y/N look at him amused but the longer she looks the more she doesn't want to shift her gaze which in turn causes waves of butterflies rising up from the pit of her stomach.

"Not this again." She thought bitterly talking about the mix of emotions that clung to her.

Now annoyed at the tingles that only seemed to be increasing rather than going away since she was telling them too, Kai came in and excused himself before taking a seat.

"Sorry guys, a little late?"

"More like a lot. Break's over." Stated Jennifer.

Kai chuckled goofily, "No, it isn't..." and trailed off when heard the bell ring shaking their eardrums.

The Outcasts slowly headed to their classes now completely dissolved in convos about different things with Moxy continuing with how her boyfriend got her the cutest teddy bear ever and Kai explaining the reason for his absence which he said he was dealing with some important work.

Y/N raised an eyebrow at that wondering what it could be when Moxy tugged on her arm indicating that she should listen to her.

"Love will always find you." Moxy smiled admiring the speech she had been preparing since childhood most probably.

"Well does this bitch need my address?" Y/N desperately hoped they'd talk no more about this sensitive topic because she didn't want to suffocate herself.

Not more than she already is especially when she keeps losing people and there is nothing that can fix her. She needed herself to stop thinking about her new coach but she's already in the process of falling

deeper.
