{chapter 10}

Aang was looking at Katara as she walked out of the Cafeteria with all her friends. "Why is she crying? Shouldn't she hate Meng after what she did to her?" Aang thought to himself confused. He was a little sad about Meng's death a few tears fell but that's it. He was down but he wasn't going to mourn her death. He was more interested in why Katara had more of a reaction to Meng's death then he did. "I'm really sorry Aang, we know you cared about her." All his friends say while patting him on the back. "Thanks guys. This stuff happens I guess." The principle cleared his throat making the whole Cafeteria go silent. "The rest of the day will be a free day. You can move from class to class chatting and comforting you friends. Lunch will be at the same time and so will dismissal time." A student raised there hand. "Yes?" The principle asked pointing at the student. "What was the reason for Meng's death?" Everyone turned to the principle for answers. "It was a tragic accident. A fire in their garage." After that everyone was sent back to their class to grab their things and to freely walk around school for the rest of the day.

Katara and her friends all made it to the girls bathroom. Toph earth bended a wall in front of the door so no one could get in. Katara slid down the wall. "Will someone please tell me what's going on!" Sokka yelled. "Yeah me too I'm confused!" Tylee said. Azula looked at Katara who nodded back at her. "No need to hide it from them." Katara said while wiping her tears. "Katara isn't crying because she is going to miss Meng. She's crying because she's the reason she's dead." Azula said. Sokka's eyes widened and ran to his sisters side. He hugged her. "Let's go home and you need to tell me everything okay?" Katara just nodded while Sokka helped her up. Toph earth bended the wall down and let Katara and Sokka leave. "Katara is a murderer?" Tylee asked. "She's not a murderer!" Suki yelled. "It was all self defense. She never meant to kill her." Mai said.

Katara and Sokka walked through the halls. Katara was hugging her brother trying to hide her face. She didn't want anyone to see while she was crying. They made it to their homeroom and Katara ran and grabbed her things and Sokka's. They started walking out the school when they bumped into Aang. "Katara are you okay? Why are you crying I don't understand." Aang said genuinely worried about her. "Fuck off Aang she doesn't want to talk to anyone right now." Sokka said coldly. Aang looked at Katara who was still hiding in her brothers sweatshirt. He sighed and walked away. "Hey you can't just leave school! We will have to call your parents if you do!" A teacher yelled. Sokka just flipped him off and walked out the doors of the school.

Katata and Sokka just walked in the door. Katara's eyes were red and just a little puffy. You could tell she was crying. Haru was sitting at the dinning table, he looked up and noticed that Katara had been crying. He ran up to her. "Katara are you okay?! What's wrong?! Why are you crying?! Who did this to you?!" Haru was about to hug Katara but she backed up and grabbed her brothers arm. Sokka somehow understood what Katara was trying to say and lightly pushed Haru away. "She doesn't want you to hug her right now. I'm going upstairs to talk to her. You stay down here." Sokka didnt wait for Haru to answer and he leaded Katara upstairs to her room.

Sokka closed the door and sat with Katara on her bed. "Now you need to tell me everything that happened from the beginning to the end. If anything ever connects to you and we get questioned we need to be on the same page. We need to have the same story." Sokka said. "Wait you don't hate me? Your just going to help me get away with this?" Katara asked. "Of course. Like I said your the only family I have left, not even a murder will make me hate you." Katara softly smiled. "Okay well I found out that Meng was the girl that tapped my drink at the party. She then proceeded to try to get me raped by Jet and Onji. Aang came in and saved me. He tried to ask me where I lived so he could drive me home but I was already passed out by that time. So he ended up taking care of me. When I was with him I was able to get Meng's address. I wanted revenge. So I talked to Mai, Azula, Suki, and Toph about it and they all agreed to help me. Last night, we rented a car and all drove to Meng's house. Me and Toph were vandalizing her car as Mai slashed her tires and her parents tires. Then me and Toph smashed the windows, which was the signal for Azula to set the garage on fire." Katara was cut off by Sokka. "Okay wait, was setting her Garage on fire really necessary?" Sokka asked. "W-well at the time it felt very necessary!" Katara defended herself. "Anyways she set the garage on fire and the ran back to the car. We herd Meng scream making Toph drop her hammer. I told her to run to the car I will get the hammer. So she ran to the car, I bent down to grab the hammer but she tackled me to the ground. She said she was going to kill me and I really believe she was trying to kill me, because she was choking me and her hands were getting tighter and tighter. It became hard to breath. So I grabbed one of the hammers and slammed it into her arm. I tried to run away but she came charging at me. So without thinking using some water bending I sent her flying into the burning garage. M-making me r-responsible for Meng's d-death." Katara said started to cry again. Sokka patted her back. "What you did was for self defense. You didn't mean to actually kill her." Sokka said. Katara wiped her tears away. "Yeah I know, but I just don't like the feeling of being the reason someone's life ended." Katara said. "So she killed this girl named Meng huh? Interesting." Haru thought to himself slowly backing away from Katara's door. "She left a bruise on my neck. I tried to heal it but I didn't all go away. I have to go back to healing lessons." Katata said while grabbing a makeup wipe and wiping off the makeup on her neck revealing a hand shaped bruise. "Yeah keep putting makeup on that. They will definitely suspect something if they see that." Sokka said while chuckling. "I have a question for you though." Sokka said. "What is it?" Katara asked. "Is there something going on between you and Aang?" Sokka asked. Katara started twirling her hair with her fingers. "Well I'm not gonna lie to you sooo... yeah, we been on a date already but we aren't really 'dating' per say. He hasn't officially asked me out yet. Sokka nodded his head. "I don't really approve of that. But I can't control you, be careful. And don't expect me to be nice to him. I still don't like him." Katara laughed. "Oh we should meet up with everyone to make sure we all have the same story." Katara said to her brother. "Okay we can meet up at the skate park around 9pm you text everyone because I'm to lazy too." Sokka said while getting up and walking out of Katara's room.
